Our multi-national client in Limerick is currently seeking a Senior System Administrator/Application Support Engineer for an initial 6-month contract role.
 
This is a great opportunity to work in medical devices/regulated environment in the mid-west region. The role initially would be fully remote and then the candidate needs to be on the site (2-5 times/month) in Limerick to build the relationship with the Team.
 
 
We are looking for candidates who are skilled in migration windows server, migration and support of .net applications, supporting different applications from the infrastructure point of view, understanding of databases (Oracle, SQL server and etc.)
 

Responsibilities

 

  • Application DBA support for applications running on Oracle & MSSQL platforms.
  • Deployment/Support of .net applications
  • Support project managers & development teams in application architecture design.
  • Manage/maintain IIS Intranet environments.
  • Partner with controls software teams in supporting GxP applications in a manufacturing environment.
  • Participate in incident resolution.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for a Systems Administrator responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of client and server computer systemsAs a member of the Live Web department, this individual will be responsible for providing technical support to students attending Live Web classes and to instructors who teach these courses. Other responsibilities include a maintaining virtualized environment, which includes a Citrix environment, Active Directory, and virtual machines. (Live Web classes use a combination of Web conferencing, audio conferencing, and a virtual lab to deliver real-time, instructor-led training over the Internet.)

 

You will:

  • Monitoring simultaneous live web events hosted with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx
  • Extensive support of client-server connections over the intranet and virtualized lab environment
  • Communicate with customers and instructors in multiple countries
  • Develop technical and end user documentation
  • Serve as technical expert for all class issues
  • Use ticketing system to track and monitor issues
  • Work with other departments to resolve technical problems, answer questions, configure software
  • Other responsibilities include providing support of a Citrix virtualized environment, domain administration, test software updates

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related quantitative field
    • Associate's degree in the same fields with an additional 2 years of stated essential qualifications - or -
    • High school diploma (GED) with an additional 4 years of stated essential qualifications
  • Experience with interactive network environment and one or more client/server operating systems required
  • Minimum of 2-5 years experience as a Systems Administrator or Help desk support.

•    Candidates may come from an end user environment, hardware vendor, software vendor or cloud provider in the product team, creative design shop as a supplier and/or a consulting background in this space.

Within the Engineering Team at Merit you will be a part of a dynamic and developing team who are working on projects and systems for multiple leading medical device products that have been acquired and developed out of our own R&D centre of excellence here in Galway. Our Engineers are directly involved in the development of innovative products for use in medical procedures. As the Engineering Manager you will lead a team of qualified, experienced, and energetic engineers and technicians of all levels to develop a world class Engineering Department.
Day to day:
* Create clarity and direction for roles and responsibilities for process engineering and technical support levels, ensuring structural alignment to the expectations and demands of the business
* Manage a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians in performing their respective responsibilities.
* Provide the leadership and drive to the successful roll out for all programs, incorporating good industrial engineering techniques for Target Deliverance of scrap and consumable cost reduction, increase in equipment availability and Problem Solving.
* Determine and drive improvement targets, meet and present the engineering metrics for all relevant performance goals.
* Establishes and supports a work environment of continuous improvement with close supervision of, and/or direct involvement in programs to develop & improve existing production / quality / performance.
* Determines appropriate staff levels for your team, participate in setting budgets, including wage increases and in job evaluation reviews.
* Engage with other stakeholders internally and establish service level agreements and set expectation and guidelines for the development of the group.
* Demonstrates and models through his / her management style and behaviour respect for our core values and a commitment to teamwork.
* Perform other related managerial tasks.
Your profile:
* Bachelor of Science or Engineering Degree in relevant technical discipline.
* Work related experience of at least six years of which at least f years' experience is in the medical device manufacturing industry in a similar role, coupled with a proven track record in a leadership role.
* Lean six sigma knowledge (preferably to Green Belt certification or higher). Experience of applying Lean tools / techniques to improve business processes & performance.

Our multi-national client in Limerick is currently seeking a Senior System Administrator/Application Support Engineer for an initial 6-month contract role.
 
This is a great opportunity to work in medical devices/regulated environment in the mid-west region. The role initially would be fully remote and then the candidate needs to be on the site (2-5 times/month) in Limerick to build the relationship with the Team.
 
 
We are looking for candidates who are skilled in migration windows server, migration and support of .net applications, supporting different applications from the infrastructure point of view, understanding of databases (Oracle, SQL server and etc.)
 

Responsibilities

 

  • Application DBA support for applications running on Oracle & MSSQL platforms.
  • Deployment/Support of .net applications
  • Support project managers & development teams in application architecture design.
  • Manage/maintain IIS Intranet environments.
  • Partner with controls software teams in supporting GxP applications in a manufacturing environment.
  • Participate in incident resolution.
  • Database and application support.
  • Support the development team

 

 

Skills & Experience

 

  • Strong experience in migration of servers, migration and support of .net applications
  • Strong understanding of Oracle database
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server
  • Strong knowledge of Networking concepts and Microsoft Windows operating systems/Windows server administration
  • Experience of managing IIS environments
  • Experience of scripting languages (VBscript, PowerShell etc.…) as well as Oracle PL/SQL and T-SQL
  • Ability to lead projects including server migrations
  • Incident management using ITIL
  • The ability to mentor & delegate
  • Project management skills
