We are a world leading USA software firm with a software centre in Limerick City. We have an immediate requirement for a talented Software Engineer to join our global R&D team based in our new state of the art R&D centre in Castletroy, Limerick. The team is friendly, supportive, adheres to Agile principles, and is driven to provide the highest quality deployment products and tools. This is a new position within the company, it’s a permanent job and it’s an immediate requirement.

 

Role:

Working as part of a large global product development group, you will be working on development activities including solution design and review, development, unit testing, and code review. This is a broad role, and will include design, development, devops, testing and support, so there will be plenty to learn!  We are looking for someone who can discover the best tool for the job, learn it, get the job done well, and share their new knowledge with the team. The team is globally dispersed with the majority of team members based in Limerick. It is a Scrum environment.

 

 

Candidate profile:
You are a software engineer with a solid grasp of the full software development lifecycle. You have good communication skills and work well in a team based structure. You should have 2 – 3 yrs software engineering experience in an Agile development environment, and have some experience of either Python, Bash, MS PowerShell or devops, and you should be familiar with database concepts and operations.

 

Experience of any of the following would be desirable (but is not required in order to apply for this position):

  • Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence and Bamboo)
  • Experience with virtualization, configuration management, and deployment tools such as Jenkins, Terraform
  • Test automation tools, Selenium, Test Complete

The Role

 

As the Senior Quality Engineer, you will be tasked with driving compliance and continuous improvement of the site quality management system to the required quality and regulatory standards.

 

Driving compliance with activities such as new product introduction, supplier quality, change control, complaints, NC & CAPA, you will also seek to drive improvements to meet KPIs.

 

Managing and controlling document with the QMS, you will seek to improve QMS documents and systems, co-ordinate internal audits and identify and implement operational improvement initiatives.

 

Additionally, you will:

 

- Drive Quality requirements related to New Product Introduction

- Continuously assess the regulatory impact on new product releases or product updates

- Maintain appropriate product records to demonstrate compliance

- Develop appropriate trending analysis and sampling plan reviews

- Prepare for and participate in external regulatory inspections

 

About You

 

To be considered as a Senior Quality Engineer, you will need:

 

- Good knowledge of quality assurance and regulatory standards

- Good technical writing skills and experience

- Good computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft, ERP and QMS database systems

- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both spoken and written form

- Attention to detail and accuracy to deal effectively with literature and data reviews

- To be self-motivated, flexible, organised and a good team player with the ability to prioritise own work based on departmental and site requirements

 

A third level qualification in a related discipline would be beneficial to your application, as would experience working in a similar quality assurance related role in the Medical Device Industry.

It requires new feature requirements review, feature implementation, and sustaining activities for released software versions.  There is a large customer base with a variety of supported configurations. We are looking for an experienced technical lead to drive solutions and help support our customer base.

The successful candidate will have a minimum level 8 degree in Computer Science or related discipline. You will have 10+ years software development experience using a modern OOO language, you will have 3+ years’ experience in leading a team and experience working in a large cross functional multinational organization. Strong technical skills in C++ and Visual Basic applications, Agile Scrum experience and medical device experience are an advantage for this position.
