Our client is a dynamic and innovative company who develop leading edge IoT technology solutions for the corporate sector. Due to continued growth they are now hiring an ambitious Senior Software Developer/Team Lead to join their team in Limerick. This role can be based anywhere in Ireland, with regular travel to Limerick for training and meetings. This role is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious, highly professional software developer to join a rapidly expanding company operating in a high growth market. Reporting into the CTO, you will be responsible for leading a small and growing sw dev team. Working in an Agile environment, all new development will be in Python and there will be a program to migrate Java components to more lightweight Python implementations.   You will work closely with key customers and other stakeholders to understand requirements, negotiate well-defined deliverables, and get them delivered. You will be developing software on multiple platforms including J2EE and Python. The role breakdown is around 60% technical/engineering design and development, and around 40% team leading.

Candidate profile:

You are educated to degree level and you have excellent communication and team leading skills. You are an experienced software developer with around 5+ years experience in Java or Python. You have proven experience in working with multiple stakeholders to achieve business goals. You have strong experience in the design and development of software through all stages of the SDLC. Ideally your knowledge of J2EE development includes Spring and your knowledge of Python-based technology includes flask or Django. You also have a strong knowledge of relational database technology.

Experience of or interest in any of the following areas is desirable (but not required):

• PaaS products such as AWS and Azure
• Linux shell, R programming
• Security, crypto and authentication protocols, e.g., SSL, IPsec, AES, SHA.

Senior Software Performance Engineer

Our client is a rapidly expanding USA FinTech software company in the Tipp/Limerick region.  This is a permanent role offering an upper quartile salary plus full benefit package.

You will be a key member of the Cloud Platform team, who are driving the quality of our products and services to the next level. You will define, develop and perform performance/scalability benchmarks on various micro-services deployed to the Cloud and you will be working with various profiling tools to identify performance and concurrency bottleneck for a range of server/web and android devices. You will implement and improve sizing and capacity calculators for key applications on the cloud.

Candidate profile:

• 6+ years of experience in Performance Engineering and Benchmarking
• Skilled in both the art and science of benchmark creation and measurement and modelling of system behaviour under load
• Hands-on experience creating load and performance scenarios driven by user behaviours and patterns
• Ability to design and script out complex performance tests using tools such as Gatling Locust.io
• Ability to find root cause of performance bottlenecks with profiling tools, pstack, JProfiler, YourKit (Java)
