We are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our Galway site on a fixed term basis with view to permanency.

 

Purpose

 

Demonstrates commitment to the Quality Policy (patient safety and product quality) through their daily execution of sound quality practices and the maintenance of an effective quality system.  Understands  and complies with all the regulations governing the quality systems. Ensures their direct reports are aware of their commitment to patient safety and product quality, are current with their training requirements and that they understand and comply with all other regulations governing their work.

 

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and resolves complex exceptions to work assignments.
  • Summarizes, analyses, draws conclusions and makes appropriate decisions from test results or other process related findings.
  • Has the responsibility and independent authority to make decisions related to product quality, including the disposition of non-conforming product.
  • Participates in Customer Complaints investigation for areas under their control.
  • Continually seeks to drive improvements in product and process quality.
  • Knowledgeable on QSR and ISO/MDD standards, constantly promoting awareness of best industry practices, making appropriate decision on a daily basis utilizing the quality engineering manager/site QA Director as the final arbitrator on critical quality decisions.
  • Fully conversant with validation techniques and associated regulatory requirements including analysis of customer feedback and complaints.
  • Evaluates in conjunction with EHS new equipment/processes/chemicals for environmental impact/effect to eliminate or lessen such impacts/effects.
  • Knowledgeable on Risk Management , BSEN 14971 requirements.
  • Compiles and analyses operational, test and validation data to establish technical specifications and performance standards for newly designed or modified products and processes.
  • May participate directly in a new product/technology transfer to ensure compliance to all internal and regulatory requirements.
  • Uses knowledge of Six Sigma, Statistical Analysis and Lean principles to investigate and solve problems and improve quality.
  • Gives technical guidance to Associate Quality Engineer, Technician and Inspection staff.
  • Is a good team member, fully motivated to achieve and demonstrate best practices in line with the department and Site objectives.
  • Deals with suppliers, other engineering disciplines within and outside of the Site and customers should the need arise.
  • Is familiar with the internal auditing process

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NFQ Level 8 (240 Credits) qualification in a STEM discipline
  • Minimum of 3-4 years experience in a Quality Engineering capacity.
  • Good technical capabilities, communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative.
  • Proven ability to work well both as part of a team but also able to work on own with minimum supervision.

The Role
  • Support in the review of supplier introduction and changes, coordinating activities with suppliers and with internal cross-functional support teams to develop and implement appropriate strategies to qualify and support
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place at supplier, based on risk associated with product or service
  • Provide expert QE technical direction input to component qualification strategies and documentation in conjunction with project teams to ensure high standards are in place

The Person
  • BSc in a Science or Engineering discipline
  • 4 years industry experience with a minimum of 2 years within Supplier Quality
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Strong communicator, excellent problem-solver, good attention to detail

The candidate can be based in the Galway or Cork site.

Requirements:

  • Provides engineering support for activities related to supplier selection and evaluation, material qualification, supplier performance and receiving inspection.
  • Provides guidance to BSC Purchasing and Engineers in applying supplier quality system requirements.
  • Assesses supplier capabilities through direct visits, technical discussions, and quality system audits.
  • Contributes to and participates in Material Review Boards.
  • Contributes and participates in supplier performance reviews.
  • Assists in establishing and implementing Supplier QA Department improvement goals.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of related quality standards, including ISO and GMP.

Requirements & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Quality Assurance, (min HETAC level 8)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in an Engineering / Quality role
  • Have lead assessor experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Quality System Requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as good leadership abilities.
  • Have the capacity to handle multiple development aspects of assigned projects.

My client, a multinational software company who are a leader in their field, have an excellent opportunity available for a QA Engineer to join their team in Galway. Originally an Irish start-up company who were acquired by a large multinational due to the success of their product, they have continued to grow despite the current pandemic.
In this role you will work on a mix of manual and automated testing for web based and mobile applications as part of an established QA team. It will be remote initially but will be based onsite in Galway when it is safe to do so again so you must be based in Galway or be prepared to relocate there to be suitable for this role.
Requirements
  • Computer Science Degree or similar
  • ISTQB certification
  • At least 2 years' experience in a QA role
  • Test Automation experience - Selenium, Appium or similar

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality standards and protocol for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
  • Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

In this role you would be working with external suppliers as well as within a cross functional team to resolve supplier related issues. This person would be a driving continuous improvement while also driving key quality metrics across the Galway location.

Responsibilities.

  • Communicate with management and project team about supplier performance.

  • Define receiving inspection requirements as required and associated test method validation for all internal test methods.

Experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical discipline such as Engineering or Science or another technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
  • The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and guidelines including 21 CFR parts 210,211, 21 CFR part 820, ICH requirements and ISO 13485 is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in Supplier Quality would be an advantage.
  • ISO 13485 Lead Auditor Certification would be an advantage.
