Software Test/QA Engineer, Castletroy, Limerick / Remote working.

 

We are a rapidly growing web development company who are building enterprise back end systems and web solutions for the corporate sector in the USA using proven open source technologies. We have designed and built large scale geo distributed deployments capable of handling sustained queries in the 1000+ per second range while also building many sites in the consumer publishing, e-commerce and mobile space. We are now looking to hire a Software Test/QA Engineer to join our talented and expanding web development team in Castletroy, Limerick. This role can also be worked on a remote/telecommute basis in Ireland (must be available to travel on a regular basis to the head office in Limerick for training and meetings).

 

 

Job description:

Working as part of a highly experienced software test team, you will be testing enterprise-scale websites in a fast-paced, Agile environment. Tech stack is Linux based and includes Java, Tomcat and Jenkins, GitHub, MySQL, Solr, Tomcat, Maven, Scripting (e.g. Perl, Python, Shell), JIRA and TestRail, Continuous integrations with Jenkins, AWS etc, with a mix of manual and automated testing. As well as working closely with our development and test teams in Limerick, you will also liaise directly with our customers in the US. The technology used will vary according to projects and will always be at the cutting edge, so you will have plenty of opportunities to get to grips all the latest trends in technology.

 

Required skills and Experience:

You are an experienced QA engineer/software tester. A degree in Computer Science (or a similar technical discipline) and you have at least 2-6 years of software testing experience, including experience testing public-facing websites. You have experience of working in a Linux environment and you have a solid understanding of the full SDLC. You have strong problem solving skills and you pride yourself on your attention to detail. You have good communication skills and a proven ability to work effectively with clients and development teams.

 

Experience in the following would be a huge advantage:

  • Scripting (e.g. Perl, Python, Shell etc)
  • Working in an Agile development environment
  • JIRA and TestRail
  • Java, Tomcat and Jenkins
  • Automated testing techniques and tools

The Role

 

As the Senior Quality Engineer, you will be tasked with driving compliance and continuous improvement of the site quality management system to the required quality and regulatory standards.

 

Driving compliance with activities such as new product introduction, supplier quality, change control, complaints, NC & CAPA, you will also seek to drive improvements to meet KPIs.

 

Managing and controlling document with the QMS, you will seek to improve QMS documents and systems, co-ordinate internal audits and identify and implement operational improvement initiatives.

 

Additionally, you will:

 

- Drive Quality requirements related to New Product Introduction

- Continuously assess the regulatory impact on new product releases or product updates

- Maintain appropriate product records to demonstrate compliance

- Develop appropriate trending analysis and sampling plan reviews

- Prepare for and participate in external regulatory inspections

 

About You

 

To be considered as a Senior Quality Engineer, you will need:

 

- Good knowledge of quality assurance and regulatory standards

- Good technical writing skills and experience

- Good computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft, ERP and QMS database systems

- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both spoken and written form

- Attention to detail and accuracy to deal effectively with literature and data reviews

- To be self-motivated, flexible, organised and a good team player with the ability to prioritise own work based on departmental and site requirements

 

A third level qualification in a related discipline would be beneficial to your application, as would experience working in a similar quality assurance related role in the Medical Device Industry.

Job Description

In this role, you will be working with multiple devices and multiple teams, which makes it interesting for those who are willing to learn, work on different projects, and develop their skills.

You will need to hold a BSc or MSc Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields and 5+ years of software testing experience

  • Knowledge of systems analysis, perform in-depth analysis of the requirement and specifications to create test cases

  • Skilled user of test tools for project area responsible, conduct peer technical review of the test cases to ensure test coverage

  • Make recommendations for improvement to tools, perform test case executions

  • Applies basic knowledge of end user to evaluate usability of applications

  • Applies in-depth working understanding of standards and methods to comply/enforce the standards in day to day tasking.

  • Executes complex test cases/scripts and interprets/analyzes results to report, communicate, and work through issues with software engineers, perform investigation and troubleshooting activities

  • Interprets product design and requirements to engineer test approach and generates test plans and test cases/scripts, participates in design and code reviews if needed

  • Takes on primary ownership for testing of certain area(s) of a system, develop in-depth knowledge of the responsible area(s)

  • Conducts complex black box, system-level, functional testing, applies comprehensive knowledge of software quality concepts within the software development lifecycle

  • Creates test plans for white box testing, applies in-depth working understanding of standards and methods to comply/enforce the standards in day to day tasking

  • Can apply working understanding of the inter-workings of a section or component of the application code under test, utilize Intermediate SQL knowledge to perform data validation tests

Advantage:

  • Experience in Microsoft Visual Studio for testers

  • Knowledge of Medical quality document processes (QMS)

  • Participates in code reviews and can develop source code (minimum of one language applicable to development environment) as well as do scripting
