We are seeking a Shift Production Supervisor for our client that operate in the waste recycling sector. Located on the South side of Cork city, the role of the Shift Production Supervisor is to manage the shift and the staff on the shift.
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will ensure the smooth running of the production process and that all products are produced to the specified quality and specifications. You will ensure all target and deadlines are met and that all staff complies with the company's Health and Safety procedures
Shift pattern: 2 x 12 hours weekends or weekends + 3 x days/evening shift
With direct reports such as Line Operators, Team Leaders, Machine Operators and Yard Operators your responsibilities will include the following:-
Key Responsibilities
º To take responsibility of the shift in terms of management of staff, management of production and quality targets and to ensure the smooth running of the production processes
º Responsible for the quality of the product that is produced within the shift in line with the companies quality systems, processes and procedures
º Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance and maintenance issues
º Ensure good communication is given verbally or written to all staff members
º Ensure that Health and Safety rules and regulations are adhered to during the shifts. Carry out regular Health and Safety meeting with safety reps.
º Problem solving and troubling shooting skills are used to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand
º Work closely with other Team Leaders/Supervisors to ensure smooth production handovers
º Identify and ensure that training skills are met for current and future shifts
º Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace
º Be able to make appropriate decisions while following the company's organisational structure
º Maintaining and record a high level of timekeeping and non- absenteeism across all shifts
º Cary out "return to work interviews" following illness or non-appearance.
º Report and document any injury or "near miss" incident in the work place.

Summary:
Our client, a Global Life Science company in North Dublin, is seeking to recruit a 4 cycle (24/7) Manufacturing Production Supervisor (non- unionised position) to join the Manufacturing Operations Department. Reporting to the Shift Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the Process area operates in safe and GMP compliant manner at all times. The incumbent will manage a team of process chemists and/or chemical process operators.
Responsibilities:

  • The role will be to build upon and improve existing process design to optimize process, facility and equipment use while conforming to SOPs and cGMP requirements.
  • Lead and develop the team, to ensure safe and timely completion of all process activities according to cGMP's.
  • Coordinate the workload of your team in order to meet schedules and timelines.
  • Lead any Safety Investigations from your area identify and implement CAPA's.
  • Mentor and coach your team in order to drive full performance and development.
  • Set performance goals and objectives for team, and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Work with the Shift Team Leads/Shift Manager (Shift Leadership Team) and track area progress on key issues.
  • Drive Shift Metrics for your team.
  • Fully Support all New Product Introduction (NPI) activities, to ensure Right First Time introduction of new products.
  • Participate in and attend cross-functional (multidiscipline) meetings.
  • Lead project-related working groups (cross-functional) in order continuously improve process and performance, with specific focus on Human Error reduction.
  • Involved in recruitment and development of team.
  • Lead investigations and corrective action follow-up to ensure closure of events/investigations in line with department metrics.
  • Act as interface between management team and functional team.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of area SOPs and validation documents for equipment and procedures, and assist in the writing of area status reports, regulatory documents, and process descriptions.
  • Drive implementation and embedding of Lean Tools in the area (Standard Work, 5S, Yellow Belt).

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Relevant degree level qualification.
  • 4 to 5 years of working experience in a GMP regulated manufacturing environment.
  • API experience is required.
  • Prior relevant team leadership experience in a regulated manufacturing operations environment.
  • Working knowledge of production operations, scheduling, design, planning, etc.
  • Knowledge of lean management systems.
  • Previous experience defining and establishing policies and SOPs.
    Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced and goal driven environment.

The Packaging Team Leader leads Aerie’s secondary packaging operations in Athlone through the completion of secondary packaging manufacturing activity.
 
Packaging operations involve high speed packaging of sterile eye drop bottles including brite stock packaging, finished packaging include labelling, cartoning, bundling, case packing and palletisation. The packaging team leader is also responsible for the resulting manufacturing batch records used to record manufacturing activity and to enable the release of product batches to the market.

Essential Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Works with manufacturing and quality colleagues as part of an Operation’s team whose shared goal is to realise the safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives of the site.
  • Prioritises safety personally and within the team to ensure a safety first culture when operating equipment within packaging – champions safe working always.
  • Ensures focus on the quality performance of the packaging area to ensure system and human errors are minimised through SOP and MBR design and through daily focus on quality culture.
    • Leads the packaging area and the manufacture of products in accordance with the production schedule, BOMs and finished product specifications.
    • Coordinates manufacturing activity according to schedules agreed with Supply Chain and ensure engagement of support areas required to assist in packaging performance.
    • Monitors and reports on key area performance metrics across safety, quality, delivery and cost.
    • Leads the recruitment, training and performance management of the members of the Packaging manufacturing team.
    • Leads the packaging area in nurturing a continuous improvement culture and the deployment of appropriate lean ways of working to enable that continuous improve drive.
  • Lead Packaging Operations on the site’s New Product Introduction team.
    • Represent Packaging Operations as the manufacturing SME at regulatory audits and lead the area in preparing for these audits.
    • Provides manufacturing support for product PPRs (Periodic Product Review) from a Packaging perspective.
