Job Description 

• The PHP Developer will work as part of a team alongside a Technical Lead, further developers, and the Project Manager.

• Require regular communication with the team with the aim of putting features live on a weekly and sometimes daily basis.

• Will be required to QA the work and get it to a point where it can be signed-off by the client before handing it over to the Technical Lead for deployment.

• Time all work against estimates provided by the Technical Lead and ensure timely communication in scenarios where the estimates cannot be met.

• Will perform code reviews on a daily basis of his colleagues' commits to ensure best practice coding standards.

• It will be expected that the PHP Developer will take part in further professional development and certification with the aim of becoming a Technical Lead within an agreed timeframe. 

• A remote developer will be considered however this individual will be required to spend a period of time to be agreed in Cork, Ireland for the initial part of the contract. 

Requirements 

The ideal candidate will have

• Strong commercial experience using Symfony 4 or 5. Symfony certification would be a plus. Similar experience in Laravel will also be considered.

• Ideally, a few years of experience working on open source PHP based Ecommerce platforms such as Magento and Shopware in a commercial environment.

• In-depth knowledge of MySQL to allow writing complex queries with an understanding of the performance implications.

• A small example Symfony bundle will be specified, written, and required for review during this process.

• A strong understanding of the unique communication requirements of remote working.

• Strong debugging Skills.

• Strong working knowledge of Git.

Optional Nice-to-Haves 

• Experience with TDD and/or BDD

• Experience in performance tuning, security, composer, DevOps, git flow

• Certifications in Magento, Shopware, PHP, MySQL, and/or Linux are considered an advantage.

Purpose:

Act as a member of the Boston Scientific Cork facility Quality Team. To provide expert QA support to Operations, in ensuring operational goals and objectives are achieved for the plant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision of Quality Technicians.
• Drive and implement process improvements to ensure predictable processes across all product lines (e.g. Risk Reduction, Yield improvements, Customer complaint reduction, Error proofing, Cost Reduction initiatives, Process Automation activities).
• Provide effective and responsive QA support to Operations to meet their area’s objectives of quality, cost and output.
• Support automated line and processes with respect to all potential issues.
• Be an agile team member who can support all functions are required.
• Ensure all process variables and their interactions are adequately defined. Ensure all failure modes in process have been identified and addressed. (e.g. Use of DOE studies, FMEA’s).
• Drive and implement plant wide quality system improvements.
• Ensure Regulatory compliance in area of responsibility to cGMP’s of all medical device regulatory agencies (e.g. FDA and TUV).
• Provide functional expertise to other support functions on quality related issues (e.g. regulatory requirements, statistical techniques, sampling principles).
• Identification and implementation of appropriate statistical techniques to monitor process performance (e.g. SPC, CpK analysis, sampling techniques).
• Approval of change requests for product, process and quality system changes.
• Customer complaints: Analysis of returns, approval of analysis reports and analysis of complaint trends.
• Validation: Define process, product and test method validation requirements, preparation and approval of Master Validation Plans, protocols and reports approval.
• Compilation of required Regulatory documentation (e.g.Technical files, Design Dossiers, Product transfer files, Essential requirements).
• MRB: Review of MRB trends and identification of appropriate corrective actions when required.
• Perform internal quality audits.
• Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing across the site.
• Transfer and implement product and processes from development or from another manufacturing facility.

Educational Requirements:

• Minimum of Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering/Technology
• 2/3 years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent with direct experience in a QA environment (preferably GMP regulated).
• Experience in the medical device industry is an advantage.

Your Day to Day

• Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate quality testing activities of all our software: Backend, Front end Mobile apps.
• Maintain and execute test cases and/or regression test suites, manually in support of our daily deployment.
• Test software at the various phases of the development life cycle, including post release tests.
• Production Support and patch/hot-fix management, creating and executing tests to validate issues and fixes.
• Report bugs, and update and track issues through to resolution using Jira and in a manner that ensures that all stakeholders are in a position to reproduce the bug, if required.
• Communicate test results and findings i.e., test sessions, including bugs and producing training documentation, to improve knowledge transfer.

What Youll Need to Excel in this Role

• Bachelor of computer science, engineering or software degree required 
• 3 + years of experience with a variety of different testing techniques such as UI Testing, Test Driven Development Strategies, and others

• Strong knowledge of testing some or all of the following: web-based applications as well as mobile and backend API
• Familiar with tools such as: JIRA, BitBucket, Postman

Senior eCommerce (Magento) Developer – Cork/Remote

Our client, a well known retail leader is partnering with IT Search to engage with a Senior Developer to join an existing team and manage the ongoing development and maintenance of their entire retail platform. Their offices are based in Cork (but remote at present), the ideal scenario will be for a hybrid onsite/remote working practice when safe to do so, but location dependent, they are open for a mostly remote office set up into the future.

The role is to work closely with external web consultants on an ongoing basis, lead future developments and mentor junior development team members, while liaising with internal stakeholders, Project Management, Marketing, Creative Team and Senior IT Management.
