Your new role
You will have full operational and financial responsibility for a large scale data centre installation project. You will be responsible for a team of engineers, foremen, CAD technicians, health and safety officers etc. Responsibilities include managing scope, developing schedules, managing subcontractors, attending site meetings, managing the financials etc.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate will hold a qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering and have at least ten years' experience working for an M&E contractor/consultancy. Candidates with data centre experience will hold an advantage.

Job Description:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager the purpose of this position is to control, prepare and deliver the mechanical design deliverables for projects.
Job Purpose:
Mechanical Design process systems to customer requirements and generate Construction drawings for production. Liaise with production to ensure fabrication is to design and required standards.
Job Responsibility:
*Manage the Mechanical section of Design Projects and report to Department Lead and/or Project Manager as required.
*Liaise/coordinate with client/peers to find solutions to design issues.
*Generate construction drawings and isometric piping drawings using 3D Software (Autodesk Inventor & Plant 3D)
*Co-ordinate with the Procurement Department to confirm technical compliance for equipment.
*Perform Model Reviews and generate a list of action items for completion arising from the review.
*Inspect the mechanical build (platform structure and piping) as it progresses.
*Ensure that the construction team is furnished with current drawings and answer any queries during the construction stage if required.
Educational Requirements:
Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) Degree an advantage (not required)
Essential Experience & Role Requirements:
Minimum 5+ years' experience in a related Piping/ Design engineering department or role.
Autodesk Inventor experience an Advantage
AutoCAD Plant 3D
Desirable Experience:
Basic Process piping Design an advantage. Pharmaceutical piping an advantage
Experience in Design of Piping for the Pharma industry
2D AutoCAD experience
General:
The candidate must show good communication skills as supplier and client contact is required. They must be a logical thinker who can interpret drawings and must have a keen interest in design and problem solving through design.

You will have full responsibility for overseeing a sustaining project on an existing product that requires some enhancements and design changes. You would also act as the key point of contact between the development team and the CMO operation here in Ireland.
The Position
  • You will report into the Engineering Program Manager and join a team of others with Mechanical design profiles.
  • Work on project-based assignments with multi-disciplinary groups.
  • You will have the opportunity to work on the design enhancements and iterations of an established product.
  • Work is split across sustaining activities and innovative next generation product design.
  • Prioritise work in order to ensure optimum delivery against project timelines.
  • Draft BOM's detailing component specifications.
  • Lead on troubleshooting issues as they arise across the team down to component level.


The Person
  • Applicants must have a 3rd level Degree in Mechanical Engineering or relative technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years working on a complex product portfolio in a project-based design environment is required.
  • Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience of change controls.
  • Excellent communication skills required to work with cross-functional teams.

Your new role

Headcount Solutions is seeking a Process/Mechanical Engineer for our client’s biopharma facility in Dublin. This person will support the design team in the execution of a Fill/Finish project. The primary area of responsibility shall be design support to the Design Manager in the areas of Utility and HVAC design.
The role will be Dublin based, with remote working requirements initially based on Covid constraints.

Duration 12 months minimum.
Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the design team in its efforts associated with the Fill/Finish Facility.
  • Lead the design reviews in the area of P&ID’s, AF&ID’s, HAZOP’s, GMP Reviews etc.
  • Participate in cross functional package, area, or overall design team reviews as required in support of the client’s overall design goals and expectations for the project.
  • Participate in design reviews, model reviews, etc., and to input on technical elements of the design.
  • Expedite, coordinate and compile client’s comments at reviews and to follow up closure during the deign process.
  • Execute P&ID, URS, Specification and other reviews associated with the Fil/Finish project as requested by the Design Manager.
  • Provide input and assistance to both Automation and CQV in relation to the overall design.
  • Participate in the design reviews and specifications review of any Vendor Package Equipment as requested.
  • Provide assistance in the execution FAT’s / SAT / CQV activities at various locations as required.

Requirements:

  • Degree level qualification in chemical, and/or mechanical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in GMP pharmaceutical design / build / commission / start-up with direct responsibility for Engineering Documentation, Project Execution or Facility Design.
  • Experience with design, construction or commissioning of pharmaceutical facilities such as a drug substance, drug product or fill/finished facility.
  • Experience of executing project with both a utilities (plant utilities and clean utilities) and HVAC.
  • Experience of Validation /Verification of GMP equipment or processes would be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and lead a multifunctional team in support of defined objectives.
