ROLE OBJECTIVES:
* Lead implementation phase of all new products within agreed timelines and cost.
* Work closely with customers to help identify all potential manufacturing opportunities for Ireland.
* Work with the company's Ireland's technical team to identify new strategic manufacturing capabilities.
* Implement all appropriate specification changes and ensure the SAP product BOM's matches the latest specifications.
* Work up detailed product cost sheets based on agreed customer specifications.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Product costing.
* Manage SAP product specifications and produce first Engineering BOM.
* Manage print and die layouts.
* Check and track artwork and sign-off all aspects of paper & board conversion stages.
* Raise Spec Change documentation.
* Check and sign-off factory BOM's and Specification Changes
* Coordination Engineering Pilot and First Production for New Projects.
* Run review meetings as part of NPI (New Product Introduction) process.
* Attend development meetings as appropriate
* Support any business requirements on material changes, routing changes, etc. to existing products. * Manage changes to SAP to ensure BOMs matches the product specification and what current production method.
* Support Operations and Technical on any Capital Projects requiring PME input.
* Support Planning, Purchasing, and Senior Management requests/Projects.
* Manage and implement changes to improve DFM (Design for Manufacture) to increase cost-effectiveness for new and existing products.
* Liaise with all departments on suggested product improvements.
* Participate in Value Engineering and continuous improvement teams.
* Deliver personal objectives and KPIs in support of plant-wide objectives.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
* Engineering/Product Design Diploma or Degree is required
* Great communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal, organizational and time management skills
* Ability to communicate at a technical level with creative designers and engineers Desirable:
* Understanding of product design principles and a wide range of the manufacturing processes.
* SAP experience is beneficial
* Excellent understanding of manufacturing tolerances and Design for Manufacture
* 3D CAD experience, preferably Solid Works
* Knowledge of Moulding, Printing and Die-making processes
* Costing knowledge/experience

Summary:
My client is a Biopharmaceutical company who is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their team in South Dublin. The manufacturing specialist will be primarily responsible for resolving fill/finish nonconformances (NCs).
Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with Quality, Engineering, Process Development, Validation, and Manufacturing to resolve nonconformances in a timely manner.
  • Leading investigation teams in order to determine root cause, product impact potential, and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA).
  • Assuring appropriate escalation to various levels of management when timeline requirements for NC processing are exceeded.
  • Assisting as needed in audit by external agencies in answering questions related to NCs.
  • Performing other duties as required by Manufacturing Management Basic.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Biotech/Pharma manufacturing or manufacturing support role (i.e. process development, engineering, quality)
  • 10+ years directly related experience in a biotech/pharma manufacturing or manufacturing environment.

About the Job:

  • Initiate, co-ordinate and complete assigned projects within the engineering department within budget.
  • Complete Process / Product / Equipment Validations in conjunction with Quality/Validation group.
  • Conduct process feasibility trials / process DOE’s to determine appropriate/robust process windows.
  • Prepare & execute OQ / PQ protocols for process / material changes as needed.
  • Work in conjunction with the Quality & Validation group to determine appropriate validation sampling and acceptance criteria.
  • Liaise with operations and technician group to prepare plan for validation builds.
  • Co-ordinate the execution of OQ / PQ builds.
  • Prepare OQ / PQ validation reports and deviations as required.
  • Conduct process capability analysis using Minitab.
  • Maintain and develop manufacturing process documentation and procedures. All process changes and modifications to be documented and tracked closely.
  • Responsible for dealing with process, product and quality issues to achieve long term solutions.
  • Lead and co-ordinate cost resolution projects year on year as per individual goals.
  • Lead and co-ordinate Risk Mitigation initiatives such as FMEA and Risk Assessments.

Working Knowledge of the following would be an advantage but not a requirement;

• Automated / Semi Automated assembly equipment.
• Injection moulding and mould tools.
• High precision Punch & Die Sets.
• Heat sealing, ultrasonic welding, leak testing, vision systems.
• OEE Line performance methodology.
• Minitab/ Lean 6 Sigma techniques
• Root Cause Analysis methodology
• Microsoft Excel to an advanced level
• AutoCAD.

About You:

  • Degree in Mechanical / Production Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience, preferably within Medical Device industry or other regulated environments.
  • Working knowledge of Product & Process validations essential.
  • Excellent Engineering ability
  • Strong organisational ability
  • Self motivation and drive
  • Demonstrate a high level of responsiveness to internal customers (eg. production)
  • Communication- strong written, oral and presentational skills.

Working with the contract manufacturers, you will also be tasked with improving product manufacturing efficiencies. With a facilities across Ireland this position will also lead and support the US operations. You will also be required to work remotely based on the current restrictions.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Ownership of technical documentation, including drawings, bill of materials, instructions for use, specification sheets, assembly instructions and any other document in the Design Master Record of all products produced. 
  • Liaison with third party contract manufacturers ensuring that products are manufactured as per specification and according to certifications granted.
  • Work in collaboration with Research & Development team based in Dublin, Ireland, supporting the implementation of Engineering Change Notifications. 
  • Support US and International Operations teams providing technical information required, receiving, and inspecting returned products. 
  • Support operations staff who specify and purchase equipment components to support production run schedules
  • Work in collaboration with Quality Department and R&D, based in Dublin, Ireland, to maintain current product listings and initiate new projects as they become necessary
  • Be the subject matter expert on the technology and products, guiding and supporting other departments and manufacturers as needed. 

  

 

Position Requirements:

  • 6-8 years plus of engineering experience with some supervisory and project management skills, including the ability to plan, prioritize and complete several projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of current manufacturing practices and industry standards.
  • Experience would be beneficial in the HVAC industry a distinct advantage - Air or Fan based products
  • Competent in the use of computer aided design tools.
  • Knowledge of electronics and electrical engineering systems including transformers and circuit boards
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems
  • BS in Engineering required
  • Strong written and communication skills and computer skills (Word, Excel, email)
  • Basic financial skills (gross margin calculations, profit and loss statements, etc.)
  • Must be able to travel
