  • Assist in developing and improving new and existing maintenance routines within a cGMP environment.

  • You will be responsible for execution of work orders and calibrations as scheduled through the computerized maintenance management system.

Job Requirements

The Maintenance Technician should have a suitable qualification in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline. You should have 3+ years maintenance experience in a pharmaceutical environment. Experience with SAP CMMS would be an advantage for this position

Osborne are currently looking for experienced Maintenance Technician on behalf of our client who specialise in the maintenance of material handling systems. We are looking to recruit a number of Maintenance Technicians on a permanent and full-time basis to join the team in Dublin. As a Maintenance Technician, you must be self-motivated, flexible and able to work within a challenging environment. You will be an integral part of a highly skilled Maintenance team tasked with maintaining and supporting high speed automated equipment. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance activities 
  • Involved in the implementation of a continuous improvement programmes  
  • Carrying out upgrades to ensure the equipment set runs at optimum levels 
  • Keep abreast of our client’s newest products to make sure you are able to react to any issues in a quick, efficient manner 

Essential Experience: 

  • Maintenance experience, either Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical or Mechatronics. 
  • Familiarity with trouble shooting automated equipment including fault finding on electrical, PLC, PC and pneumatic control systems. 
  • Have worked on all aspects of general maintenance and technical cleaning. 
  • Have experience in using a CMMS and working with PM programs. 
  • Have good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Hold a recognised Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Engineering, qualification.

  • These roles are primarily night shift based although some rotation work is also available

The Company:
A well-established Food & Beverage company who is one of Ireland's leading suppliers of food to customers across the country.
The Position:
  • Responsible for the installation of plant equipment and machinery on site and carrying out diagnostics and repair of malfunctioning equipment following schematic drawings and procedures in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ensure that equipment is maintained to produce at optimum efficiency
  • Carry out all planned and unplanned maintenance in a timely manner reducing impact on production levels
  • Carry out changeover activities at the performance level expected to ensure smooth transition between different product types
  • Liaise with all other employees on site to ensure smooth transition of workload between shift periods
  • Engage with the maintenance team and production management to identify performance /OEE issues and resolve according to priority list set by the Maintenance Manager and Production Management
  • Liaise with vendors as deemed appropriate by the Maintenance Manager
  • Ensure all required paperwork and checks are completed correctly and on time
  • Work with the wider maintenance team to ensure a culture of manufacturing excellence is fostered on site

The Person:
  • Must have a Mechanical Automation & Maintenance Fitting qualification or equivalent FETAC Advanced Certificate Level 6 (National Craft Certificate)
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a qualified Maintenance Technician in a similar environment
  • Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment is a distinct advantage
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Experience working with inventory system
  • Experience within the FMCG industry

The Maintenance Technician performs functions related to supporting the manufacture of drug products, such as setting-up, cleaning, and maintaining equipment and facilities.   The position incumbent is expected to adhere to all cGMP compliance and regulatory mandates and quality requirements, and comply with all SOPs and internal policies and procedures in the performance of job duties. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Support and adhere to established maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain production and facility equipment in strict accordance with maintenance instructions, SOPs, and cGMPs.
  • Complete all required data entries with detail and accuracy in real time.
  • Observe established escalation process for issues impacting established production-related Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and/or fulfillment of production goals.
  • Recognize and report to immediate supervisor any process or equipment anomalies and/or deviations from accepted standards.
  • Provide status updates on maintenance activities and operational challenges according to defined procedures.
  • Execute machine changeovers between batches according to established SOPs and SLAs.
  • Keep work area neat and orderly and observe all safety and compliance procedures.
  • Seek process innovation and continuous process improvement in production area.
  • Complete and conform to all training requirements for job role, including company-required and role-specific training. 
  • Carry out and assist in the ongoing training of new and existing personnel, as appropriate.
  • Observe all safety and compliance procedures and actively highlight any safety concerns to help drive the reduction of accidents or near misses.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation craft qualification (preferably in the Pharmaceutical industry)
  • Preferably 5 years GMP/pharmaceutical maintenance work experience

  • Basic Microsoft Excel and Word skills

  • SAP and Track Wise knowledge desirable

Your new role
Your new role as a Maintenance Assistant will be based on site and dealing with the day to day running of the campus and its facilities. This would include any light maintenance, re decorating or repair works that the contractors would not be called in for. Along with this you will be the point of contact for students on-site for any day to day issue they may have on campus.
What you'll need to succeed
What you will need to succeed in this role is a knowledge and background in facilities/maintenance in a hands on capacity ideally working for a Facilities company in the past. As this role has a hands on element some carpentry or building experience is needed. Ideally you would have been in a maintenance role in the past and worked either in property maintenance or a facilities type role.

THE ROLE:
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager and working as part of well-established team, as Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance of all commercial equipment ensuring the smooth and efficient electrical running of the production plant and providing a comprehensive maintenance service to support the plant.
DUTIES:

  • You will have 2 + years' experience in commercial/production/manufacturing environment and a flexible attitude as you will sometimes need to work outside of your normal duties.
  • You will come from an Electrical OR Mechanical background
  • The shift pattern is -Am shift is 6.00 to 3.00 and the PM is 3.00 to 12.00.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
* Carry out the execution of the preventive maintenance and Condition Based program
* Providing maintenance support, entering data, updating equipment records, produce performance reports and participating in continuous improvement follow up
* Cost control consciousness

* Closely monitor line and machine performance and intervene on line as soon as any deterioration in performance occurs
* As part of the technical Maintenance team, work with equipment suppliers on new equipment and installations and modifications

Person Specification:
* Possess relevant trade qualification.
Minimum 3 years' experience in similar role in regulated manufacturing environment (OUTSIDE OF APPRENTICESHIP
* Mechanical/Electrical background. Main skill in Electrical / Mechanical
* Qualification in instrumentation an advantage (temperature calibrations)
* Multi-skilled / cross-skilled ethos
* Aptitude for process awareness, diagnostic / trouble-shooting experience gained in a Hi-volume environment
