This company is an international multi-disciplinary engineering services contractor and leading provider of high-value engineering services to a number of 'blue chip' companies. Operating across Ireland, the UK and Europe, this company has become the engineering service provider of choice in growth segments such as pharmaceuticals, data centres and power transmission and distribution. they are seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join their Limerick based team.
Your new role

The IT admin will be responsible for supporting the office and regional staff in all aspects of software and hardware issues relating to our computer and IT networks.
What you'll need to succeed

In order to be considered for this role you will hold a third level qualification in a relevant network or systems course, with a minimum of 3 years' experience within a similar role as a system administrator or similar. You will hold a Microsoft Qualification (MCSA or MCP) or equivalent as well as a current driver's license and own transport. In this role there is a need to travel to other sites and offices (sometimes at short notice). You need a valid visa to apply for this role.

Senior Embedded Engineer (C++) - R&D Medical Devices - Limerick

 

My client based in Limerick is a world leading firm in the area of wearable technology and medical devices and has engaged IT Search to speak to candidates regarding this challenging senior role that will work within R&D to create complex medical devices.

 

The role is to join an existing global team headquartered here as a Senior team member, mentoring more junior staff but bringing significant expertise to the R&D team in the areas of designing, testing and implementing embedded processes at all levels of the architecture. Working within compliance and regulatory guidelines, this role will allow the Senior Engineer to produce cutting edge technological solutions to the medical community.

 

This will be a hybrid onsite/remote role so candidates will need to be based within a commuting distance.

 

Candidates should have:

  • 5 to 10 years of commercial development experience using C++ post graduation, ideally within a pharmaceutical or highly regulated environment
  • Ideally Firmware development experience
  • Linux (embedded) ARM and Cortex skills and architectural knowledge
  • Exceptional communications skills, able to work with multiple areas of the business and various locations and have a track record of strong documentation

Our client based in Limerick (open to remote working within Ireland at present, but ultimately will require a presence in the office) is a world leader in providing software solutions into Financial Services markets. The role is to work with the existing global DevOps team to ensure ongoing automation, build, release and monitoring improvements. This role will suit an experienced AWS DevOps engineer who is looking to increase the seniority of their role, joining a team of senior architects and security experts.

 

Candidates should have:

  • At least ten years of post grad commercial experience
  • AWS Certifications alongside 5+ years of Automation/Monitoring
  • Strong CI/CD knowledge and additional monitoring for security a definite advantage
  • Additional Public Cloud experience, GCP and or Oracle Cloud will also be beneficial
  • Exceptional communication skills, presenting to non technical audiences

Experience

This role will provide you with scope to participate in developing and growing the function within the company. Responsibilities

  • Software testing of products (functional, system, regression, performance, load, build validation, scheduling, etc)
  • Creation and maintenance of a library/database of test related documentation and tools.  
  • Monitoring, reporting and contributing to the ongoing improvement of all aspects of software quality, design and delivery
  • Development and maintenance of all aspects of the Test Lab and test environments (hardware/OS/software)
  • Adoption and/or design and creation of appropriate software test tools
  • Provision of backup to other teams internally within the organisation and externally on customer sites as required
  • Participation in the generation and delivery of product and test related training material
  • Participation in product related documentation reviews and contributions
  • Design of useful lightweight processes for interaction with other teams internally

Experience

You will have a relevant degree and a minimum of 4 years relevant industry experience. You will also have experience in some of the following areas:

  • Software test (telecommunications, IP, distributed systems, HA)
  • Software test (functional, regression, load, performance, unit)

Job description:

 You will be working as part of a global IT team. As a Systems Engineer you'll be responsible for the planning and execution of projects that will support business growth, improve security, or open up new capabilities. You will be working with the IT Security and Engineering teams to maintain and execute a roadmap for upcoming quarters and you will assist with the build out of a technology platform that’s flexible, scalable, secure, and predictive. You will assist in planning and completing migrations of on-premise resources to their SAAS/PAAS/IAAS equivalents and you will rollout best practices for automation of server deployment and management. You will be involved in supervising the IT Helpdesk function, sitting in the escalation path for any critical incidents.

 

Candidate profile:

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills;
  • Strong team working skills;
  • 3 - 7+ years of relevant IT server/network administration role;
  • Strong skills in Active Directory, experience managing hundreds of users and multiple sites;
  • Good understanding of Windows features such as DNS, DC, DHCP, gMSAs, and Group Policy;
  • Good understanding on networking concepts (Subnets, VLANs, routing…);
  • Track record of having delivered IT infrastructure or IT software projects;
  • Experience in triaging incidents, spotting patterns, and establishing projects to eliminate ongoing issues;

 

Desirable (but not essential skills) include:

  • Knowledge of the Azure stack and Hyper-V;
  • Prior experience deploying and managing Intune and Autopilot;
  • Strong automation skills (PowerShell);
  • Prior experience managing network devices (e.g. Cisco switches, routers, firewalls etc);
