We are looking for an exceptional Software Engineer to join our iOS team in Cork, Ireland to design and integrate software with the latest and greatest technologies from Apple.

This position requires a self-driven engineer with great initiative. Come and help us build our new iPhone applications. If you're interested in being a part of developing a commercial grade mobile application using CoreNFC, CoreLocation (including CLBeacon), MapKit & CoreData, targeting iOS 14 and pushing the limits of performance with a large application, this could be a project for you. The app is built on the latest SwiftUI framework and we plan to keep on the bleeding edge of innovative tech coming out of Cupertino.


Your Responsibilities

  • Architect and build iOS applications, using Swift, and targeting iPhone and iPad devices
  • Ensure that best practices are followed throughout the software development process, that a suitable level of tests are created per feature and that reliable, proven libraries are utilised where necessary


Your Skills

  • Proven skills in designing, building and maintaining native apps in the App Store.
  • Swift (knowledge of Objective-C and Java is a plus)
  • SwiftUI
  • Track record of debugging and optimising code for size and performance using Instruments.
  • Experience of consuming RESTful APIs in iOS, data persistence with a particular emphasis on performance and dealing with intermittent client network connectivity.
  • An enthusiasm for data structures and architecture (we develop separate internal data and UI frameworks used by the iOS team, distributed through Cocoapods)
  • Understanding of advanced network techniques (we use ZeroMQ for live data updates)
  • Knowledge of testing and CI techniques a plus
  • Ability to write clean, well documented code with a focus on clarity and maintainability (we use SwiftLint to enforce style)
  • Demonstrated ability to work on small, focused teams to complete critical milestones under pressure with tight deadlines.

Our client, a well known retail leader is partnering with IT Search to engage with a Senior Developer to join an existing team and manage the ongoing development and maintenance of their entire retail platform. Their offices are based in Cork (but remote at present), the ideal scenario will be for a hybrid onsite/remote working practice when safe to do so, but location dependent, they are open for a mostly remote office set up into the future.

 

The role is to work closely with external web consultants on an ongoing basis, lead future developments and mentor junior development team members, while liaising with internal stakeholders, Project Management, Marketing, Creative Team and Senior IT Management.

 

Role details:

  • Developing and maintaining an eCommerce Suite to ensure a robust customer experience
  • Liaising with IT Manager and team to ensure digital strategy alignment
  • Backend, Serverside and DB management, maintaining high availability
  • Responsible for future developments into AR and related areas

 

Candidate requirements:

  • 10 years of post grad commercial experience with exceptional communication skills

The Project Manager will serve as the single point of contact for delivery of Automation and IT scope in support a significant capital project (between $100MM and $500MM).
