Manufacturing Technician – (Job Ref: 25/BMTT) Randox is a world leader in diagnostics for clinical healthcare, toxicology and food security and we are looking for Manufacturing Technicians to join our Biochip Production team based in Dungloe, County Donegal. What does our Biochip team do? Our Biochip team manufacture products for use across our Biochip Array Technology Analysers including Evidence, Investigator, MultiStat and Evolution. Our cutting-edge technology is used in Laboratories and Hospitals to diagnose health tests as well as veterinary samples and food testing. Location: Randox Teoranta, Meenmore, Dungloe, County Donegal, F94 TV06. Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent. Working Hours: 40 hours per week, 7am-5:40pm over 4 days. What does the Manufacturing Technician’s role involve? The role of the Manufacturing Technician will be working on the production of the Randox Biochip Array products. Key duties: - Calibration and maintenance of equipment. - The operation and troubleshooting of automated production lines involved in the assembly of instrument-specific Biochip Array products. - The accurate completion of manufacturing and stock records. - Completion and recording of manufacturing outputs for KPIs. - The cleaning down of machines and the work area in accordance with standard operating procedures. - Monitoring of the cleanroom environment to process defined specifications. - Assisting in the training of staff in departmental procedures and systems. - The alerting of the Biochip formulation Team Leader and Manager to any problems in the manufacture or testing of Biochip products and highlighting any non-conformances. - Accurate identification and removal of rejected biochips during the assembly process. - High-quality sealing and accurate labelling of Biochip Array products. Who can apply? Essential criteria: - Be qualified to GCSE level or have previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment. - Have the right to work in the UK. Desirable: - Computer literate and confident in the use and application of Microsoft Office packages. - Working knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, including CoSHH. - Experience in a manufacturing environment. The Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and improve products. This role would suit a recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years of experience. A farming background would also be advantageous but not essential. Key Responsibilities: <ul><li>Test and analyse materials (rubber, plastics, and steel) to meet performance specifications and regulations.</li><li>Assemble and build jigs, moulds, and prototypes to support development.</li><li>Set up and conduct material tests using tools such as pneumatics, data loggers, and 3D FDM printing.</li><li>Document test results, maintain detailed records, and prepare technical reports for stakeholders.</li></ul> What We're Looking For: <ul><li>A Level 8 degree in a relevant engineering discipline.</li><li>Knowledge of material properties and testing methods.</li><li>Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.</li><li>Proficiency in Excel and technical documentation.</li><li>Hands-on experience in prototyping, assembling, and jig/mould building.</li><li>Familiarity with Autodesk Inventor (advantageous but not essential).</li><li>Excellent teamwork, communication, and initiative.</li></ul> Why Apply?
