The Role

The successful individual will be responsible for:

• Developing and leading an architectural team within the company.
• Complete concept, planning and constuction drawings
• Liaise with project managers, engineers and consultants on project planning and design review
• Mentor junior members of the architectural team

What You Need to Have To Succeed

• 7 + Years’ Experience in Architecture
• Degree in Architecture (or equivalent)
• Previous experience with CAD and Revit
• Knowelege of BIM processes
• Member of the RIAI
• Previous Experience on public projects preferebale

Summary:
A well established educational body is looking to hire a Project Manager with Civil/ Structural/ Architectural background to work on multiple projects on the campus within the Capital Projects Office.

Responsibilities:

• Support the delivery of the capital programme for the Campus, ensuring that the timely implementation of approved projects.
• The educational campus will act as main contractor & Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) on a number smaller projects & the appointed Clerk of Works will be responsible for managing elements of those project on the educational campus’s behalf i.e.site supervision/security, H & S co-ordination, co-ordination of contractors, general site/services attendances such as skips, temp lighting, scaffolding etc.
• Act as direct interface contact with the educational campus Engineering services and maintenance staff for all tie ins and interfaces with the educational campus existing services.
• Monitors the Contractors’ activities for compliance with the contract documents including conformance with appropriate quality standards & specifications, applicable laws and regulations and permit to work and lock-out / tag-out procedures.
• This will be done with support from the educational campus Project Manager and the Design Team.
• Assist with issue daily permits and review method statements for work outside the construction site.
• Monitor site safety with contractor and report at site / design team meetings.
• Co-ordinates between Contractors and Design Team.
• Ensure the orderly transition of projects from construction to operation phase.
• Ensure the efficient capture and storage (including electronic) of all essential project data.
• Monitor compliance with environmental controls established by the Client, EIS and the Planning Authority.
• Recording of hours for dayworks and extras.
• Attend M&E services co-ordination meetings.
• Produce a weekly progress report for site meetings and the design teams.
• Implement and monitor a quality control register- Ensures that work is inspected, monitored, snagged and corrected on site.
• Notify the educational campus of the contractors’ compliance on quality, finishes, etc.
• Notify the educational campus of any commercial issues.
• Hold a full set of up to date contract documents and drawings on site and have a detailed knowledge of all relevant tender and construction documents.
• Issue a project information matrix listing items required from the design team / the educational campus.
• Chase information from the design team / Client to ensure that it is delivered to the contractor in a timely fashion to meeting the contractors’ requirements.
• Assist the design team with on-site measure issues.
• Organise walk-downs of construction site with client and contractor.
• Liaise with Buildings & Estates office on all safety, civil, mechanical and electrical interfaces.
• Main focal point for information and complaints for all departments including surrounding buildings.
• Cost / budget awareness.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Graduate in a directly relevant Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, other related discipline or the candidate may alternatively have a recognised Construction Trade Qualification which subsequently developed into managing construction projects or acting as a Clerk of Works on Construction Projects
• Minimum of 10 years’ senior level experience in a Management/Clerk of Works Role on Construction Projects.
• Experience of Working on projects acting on behalf of the Client.
• Substantial experience of buildings in a campus setting from inception to completion.
• Significant experience of working with major historic sites and listed buildings.
• Significant experience of highly serviced and diverse buildings types.
• Significant experience of delivery of projects in a live Environment with access to the public.
• Experience of managing projects to successful completion in line with KPIs of cost, quality, time, sustainability, O&M documentation, and safety.
• Experience of Cost Management on Public Works Construction Projects.
• A knowledge and experience of relevant National and EU procurement requirements, public works contracts & Capital Works Management Framework,
• Deep knowledge of the Irish construction regulatory environment.
• Detailed knowledge of the SHaWAW Act 2005 and its associated regulations, in particular the 2013 Construction Regulations and their application to this position.
• In-depth working knowledge of the Capital Works Management Framework & has significant previous experience of working on Public Works Contracts.

Job Requirements:

• Degree qualified 'Level 7 or higher'

• Good technical knowledge of network security and TCP/IP protocol
• Database skills- familiar with SQL and Oracle databases and scripting
