Dublin, N/A

Square builds common business tools in unconventional ways so more people can start, run, and grow their businesses. When Square started, it was difficult and expensive (or just plain impossible) for some businesses to take credit cards. Square made credit card payments possible for all by turning a mobile phone into a credit card reader. Since then Square has been building an entire business toolkit of both hardware and software products including Square Capital, Square Terminal, Square Payroll, and more. We’re working to find new and better ways to help businesses succeed on their own terms—and we’re looking for people like you to help shape tomorrow at Square.

Job Description

The PMM role at Square is responsible for driving global growth in payments processing volume. We do this by identifying which customer segments we can serve, understanding these sellers’ needs, and using those insights to directly influence our product strategy and roadmap. We determine product positioning and messaging, develop full-funnel growth strategies, and execute acquisition campaigns to grow our business. We collaborate closely with multiple internal teams to ensure we build the right products and reach the right customers, with the right messages, through the right channels, at the right time.

We are looking for experienced PMMs in Europe to be the in-market payments experts. You will have responsibility to drive growth in existing markets, inform our international expansion strategy, and drive our go-to market strategy development and execution as we enter new markets.

You will:

  • Develop and execute the marketing strategy for Squares products in existing and future European markets, with responsibility for all paid and organic marketing channels

  • Develop product positioning, value propositions, and messaging to be used in product development and marketing campaigns for Square products

  • Conduct surveys, interviews, and product usage analyses to learn who current and prospective customers are, what they need, how our products meet their needs, and what other alternatives exist in the market

  • Partner with Product Management, Design and Engineering to define the international product strategy and influence the product roadmap

  • Ensure new products have been tested thoroughly in-market to set our local/regional cross-functional partner teams up for success

  • Measure marketing program performance and optimize results through continuous testing

  • Develop data-driven lifecycle marketing and cross-sell strategies to promote product growth and retention

Qualifications

You have:

  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience; MBA preferred

  • 7+ years of professional experience, including business/growth strategy and marketing experience

  • Demonstrated competence in marketing fundamentals including customer insight development (both quantitative and qualitative), pricing analysis and recommendations, and executing go-to-market campaigns

  • Experience working closely with cross-functional teams (product, eng, design) to develop, launch, and scale a product; experience partnering with central creative and marketing teams to execute marketing campaigns

  • Previous background in marketing to small business audiences, preferably with experience in payments, fintech, early stage startups, and/or consumer technologies

  • Experience partnering with in-house or agency research teams to outline research needs and translate findings into actionable insights

  • Previous experience in product management a plus

  • Bi-lingual French/English a plus
