I'm currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant for our client based in Newbridge, Co. Kildare
Reporting to; Lean Centre Finance Manager
Purpose; Providing support to the Lean Centre Finance Team during the course of the audit including preparation of statutory accounts, provision of information for auditors and assisting within ad hoc accounting duties.
You will be working from home as per current Covid-19 restrictions
Accountabilities;
- Coordination, Preparation and Review of Statutory Financial Statements in a timely manner and in accordance with relevant Company law requirements.
- Assist the team with the external audit liaising with group external auditors to ensure timely efficient audit completion on statutory financial statements.
- Working together with the Business Unit Finance teams on the annual audit to ensure a timely, clean and efficient audit process.
- Ad hoc tasks relating to the year end audit and day to day accounting function within the Lean Centre and/or Business Unit Finance Teams.
- Assisting with the closure of the year end ledgers on the ERP system and ensuring transactions appropriately dealt with and reconciled.
- Assisting with the uploading of budget data to the Oracle system to ensure the information is available for management accounts purposes and reconciles to budget files.
Person Spec;
- Qualified Accountant. FETAC Level 8 Hons Degree in Accountancy, Business or related discipline
- 1-3 years PQE
- Proven capability to manage statutory accounts to completion and audit sign off, Knowledge and application of IFRS essential.
- Knowledge of integrated ERP system (preferably Oracle), Microsoft Office, Excel.

This organisation is well known in the hospitality and recreational industry. Although it's been a tough year in this industry, this company have just completed a renewal to their facilities and are entering into an exciting phase. With just under 300 employees when fully open, they are now looking for Senior Accountant/Finance Manager to join on an initial 3-month contract.
Your new role
Due to some recent changes in the team, you will take on this interim role and have full responsibilities for the finance function, including,
- Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts - P/L, Balance sheets
- Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Oversee the AP/AR and Payroll function
- Management of Revenue and Expenses for all operational departments
- Coordination of the Audit process
- Make any recommendations on strategy, highlighting key issues and opportunities
What you'll need to succeed
- You will be a Qualified Accountant
- You will have Hotel industry experience
- You will have strong IT skills - including previous experience with Sun, Sage and Opera
- Experience with TMS and Micropay would be a plus.
- You will need to be able to work autonomously and manage the whole finance function.
- You will be a confident communicator to be able to business partner with both internal/external stakeholders
- Must be immediately available
You must be happy to work in their office, this role will not be based remotely from home, however there will be flexible working hours.

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly financial results for a business unit, including detailed P&L accounts; Analyse variances in results and provide feedback to management in a timely manner.
- Produce accurate annual budgets for income and costs, and update forecasts regularly, as necessary.
- Monthly business reviews with business managers and other non-financial staff.

The systems accountant works as part of the finance team to support the production of streamlined reporting through various IT systems. Working closely with the IT team to support the duties and overall finance operations team.
Main Roles & Responsibilities:
- Main point of contact within Finance for system related issues and liaise with internal IT as appropriate.
- Lead and/or support system upgrades and implementations by:
- Supporting the development of business cases and project plans.
- Manage system testing and UAT.
- Documenting processes and procedures
- Providing training to end users as required.
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across interfacing systems to Finance to maintain accuracy of reporting.
- Contribute to, and lead where relevant, the integration of relevant non-financial systems to ensure data consistency and promote operational efficiencies.

Desired Experience, Skills and Education:
- Qualified or PQ Accountant (ACA; ACCA; CIMA; CPA).
- Accounting experience required demonstrating the understanding of ledger accounts and posting of debits and credits; professional accounting qualification would be an advantage.
- 2+ years' experience working within a Finance department and frequent use of finance platforms.
- Experience implementing system upgrades and enhancements.
- Experience in successfully integrating finance systems with other in-house systems.
- Experience managing and working with third party service providers.
- Evidence of driving continuous improvements across processes and systems.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to interpret and present data clearly; comfort presenting output to relevant stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills and comfort manipulating large datasets.
- High level of computer literacy, including database and spreadsheet tools; proficient user of MS Excel.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently.
The ideal candidate will be results-driven, self-motivated and take the initiative in identifying relevant opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reporting.
