We are seeking a Yard Operative for a busy recycling yard in the Southside of Limerick city. As an Operative you will be pro-active in your approach, can take instructions and work as part of a team.
The role will entail making sure machines in the warehouse are running smoothly, clean of debris, keeping yard and work areas clean and safe at all times, and driving small machines in the yard area. Full training will be given to successful candidate on how the yard and warehouse operate, how to operate the various machines and on all the health and safety requirements.
We are seeking a candidate with a positive attitude, not necessarily with a lot of experience but who is willing to learn and work. Machine driving experience would be an advantage. Candidates coming from a farming/rural background would be of interest.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday, from 7 am to 5 pm or 8 am to 6 pm, with some variations on these times occasionally.

  • Management of export procedures and documentation
  • Monitor orders that could potentially fall out of the delivery time frame and update customers as necessary

  • Liaise with shipping agents to ensure shipments are delivered on time and updating customer of the same
  • Carry out any other functions as required of the role as needed.

The desirable Transport Coordinator will fulfil the following requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar Transport or Logistics role
  • Strong IT systems experience- having previously used an ERP system (such as SAP) is a must

    • All administrative duties will be carried out as per instruction from your line manager

    • All mandatory & job specific training will have been undertaken & the relevant competencies demonstrated to your manager
    • Full compliant uniform & PPE will be worn at all times.
    • Personal grooming standards will be in line with Sodexo company & site specific requirements.
    • Communication with Sodexo colleagues & Johnson & Johnson personnel (verbal & written) will be clear & concise.
    • You will interact well with all Sodexo colleagues & Johnson & Johnson staff.
    • You will demonstrate attention to detail in all tasks undertaken.
    • All Secure Quality Management System documents will be completed on time and in date.
    • Concise and substantial information provided at shift handovers

    • Efficient team of officers, confident in their ability to execute duties to the best of their capabilities, even when under pressure of work load.
    • Evidence of learning and development within the role

    • Valid PSA front line license
    • Health & Safety experience
    • Strong customer service skills
    • Good communication skills
    • Previous security experience in similar working environment.
