Transport Planner - North Cork (Fermoy)
Permanent | Full-Time | Leading Logistics Organisation

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established transport and logistics provider seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their busy Operations Team. While ideally based in the North Cork area - candidate MUST HAVE OWN TRANSPORT to get to and from site.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in daily transport operations for a respected name in the Irish logistics sector.

The Role


As a Transport Planner, you'll be responsible for developing and managing daily transport plans for designated customer groups or regions. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient routing, effective resource utilisation, and high standards of customer service.

You'll report directly to the Transport Manager and be part of a wider, collaborative team driving performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities


  • Prepare and review daily transport plans with efficiency and accuracy.

  • Coordinate with other planners to optimise fleet and resource use.

  • Communicate clearly with drivers, providing all relevant job details.

  • Monitor driver hours to ensure legal compliance and balanced scheduling.

  • Support Transport Administrators with paperwork, updates, and planning issues.

  • Address any service discrepancies swiftly, escalating when necessary.

  • Participate in out-of-hours support on a rotational basis.

  • Drive improvements in planning processes and KPIs.

What We're Looking For


  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a transport planning or similar logistics role.

  • A degree in Transport & Logistics is advantageous but not essential.

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

  • Clear communicator with fluent spoken and written English.

  • Capable of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.

  • Multilingual skills are a plus, but not required.
