Arrabawn is looking to recruit a Group Technical Manager for its Dairy Processing Food Ingredients business. Based in Co. Tipperary, the Group Technical Manager will direct and lead the food safety and quality function at a senior level.
Job Title: Group Technical Manager
Job Purpose: Direct & Lead the Food Safety & Quality function for the multi-site business.
Reporting to: Operations Manager
Location: Co. Tipperary
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities associated with this role include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide strong leadership and management on Food Safety and Quality for the business ensuring the company meets legislative, customer and company requirements.
- Manage customer relationships & communication on all Technical, Food Safety and Quality matters including customer audits.
- Manage all employees within the Food Safety & Quality function to ensure an effective FSMS with consistency & alignment in systems and procedures across the business.
- Drive a Positive Food Safety culture with a continuous Improvement ethos.
- Develop strong working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure there is focus and continual improvement on Food Safety & Quality metrics.
- Manage the department budget and utilize resources effectively to meet business needs.
Liaise with R&D and Project Manager on all relevant Capital projects to ensure compliance with best practice and validation plans to ensure Food safety & Quality are included in the design & commissioning process.
- Keep the company informed of all relevant legislation and Food Safety Risks that could impact compliance within the business.
- Represent the business at all relevant Industry forum and working groups pertaining to Food Safety & Quality.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
The successful candidate will have
- Qualification in a scientific or technical discipline along with a minimum of 5 years related experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- A proven technical background, providing leadership and direction for Food Safety and Quality
- Strong people leadership skills with the ability to develop, coach & lead others in a changing environment, promoting teamwork and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in managing customer relationships ensuring the business meets all customer Technical & Food Safety requirements & expectations.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning and organisation skills
- Confident, enthusiastic individual with a "can do" attitude.
- Strong project lead, decision maker and problem solver.
