Overview
The Strategic Business Development Manager is responsible for identifying and driving new business opportunities through four main functions; ensure effective relationship management of existing clients, seek and onboard new clients and new business, facilitate/attend networking events and coordinate communications around key projects. The Strategic Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new business opportunities in their territory actively targeting end-users, project managers, quantity surveyors and other professional consultants. The SBDM is responsible for educating their target audience on the products and services that Humanscale offer.
Responsibilities
- Educating, marketing, and selling the value of ergonomic workplace solutions to end-users, partners, project managers, quantity surveyors and other professional consultants such as ergonomists, occupational health, H+S
- Always maintain appropriate networking activity levels; minimum 10 high level client appointments per week.
- Develop a business plan with management for weekly, monthly, and quarterly strategic objectives.
- Facilitate networking activities, events, introductory meetings for prospective clients.
- Identify and present relevant differentiators, added value components and unique opportunities for successful project positioning of Humanscale.
- Seek out, comprehend, and effectively communicate key client motivating factors, the key triggers that cause them to choose Humanscale over our competitors.
- Sit on industry boards, panels, discussion groups to increase brand awareness.
- Resource Utilization to position Humanscale from CEO, MD, SD, Sustainability Ambassadors through to Product Managers.
- Represent Humanscale at professional networking events; CoreNet, BCO, Workplace Trends.
- Complete networking activity & new business reports, as well as maintaining customer contact database.
- Organise and execute high level networking events to raise the profile and awareness of Humanscale as the market leaders.
- Coordinate the activity around all your key projects and ensure that communication and collaboration is maintained amongst the sales team.
- Facilitate and lead strategic regular planned new business meetings amongst the sales team.
- Identify and develop new and existing high-level relationships within your target audience.
- Have a strong understanding of all Humanscale’s products and consulting services.
- Resource utilization to position Humanscale: Product Managers, Consulting, Marketing and all Sales.
Qualifications
- Candidate will have 5+ years business sales experience – successfully selling to large corporate clients
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent sales experience preferred
- Successful track record of planning and execution
- Working knowledge of MS OFFICE and associated applications are required
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge and/or experience in office furniture or related industry, a plus
- Excellent written and verbal
- Skillful negotiation and presentation abilities
- Aggressive follow-up and closing skills
