Steel Detailer

Steel Detailer :

A steel detailer is a person who produces detailed drawings for steel fabricators and steel erectors. The detailer prepares detailed plans, drawings and other documents for the manufacture and erection of steel members (columns, beams, Hand Rails, braces, Gates, stairs, handrails, joists, metal decking, etc. )

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce detailed 2D and 3D steel fabrication drawings and models using Tekla, AutoCAD, or similar software.

• Interpret structural engineering and architectural drawings to develop accurate and precise detailing.

• Working along with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure the drawings meet project specifications.

• Review and verify design plans, ensuring all components meet the required building codes and industry standards.

• Communicate with clients and contractors to resolve design-related issues and provide technical support during the fabrication and installation phases.

• Maintain and manage drawing files, ensuring all revisions and updates are accurately documented.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Steel Detailer within the construction industry or related field.

• MUST HAVE experience in detailing secondary steel 

• Must obtain the ability to use own initiative in design of smaller components. 

• Proficiency in using steel detailing software such as AutoCAD and Tekla

• Strong understanding of steel fabrication processes, construction practices, and building regulations.

• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn and develop

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce highly accurate drawings.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• Experience working to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Clean Driving License

• Good English
