Staff Systems Engineer

My client, a leading medical device company, is seeking a Staff Systems Engineer to join their innovative team. In this role, you will contribute to cross-disciplinary product development, driving systems engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle and potentially leading key initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and deliver systems engineering inputs for new product development (NPD) and product support teams.
  • Define and document system/product-level requirements and manage changes via cross-functional processes.
  • Maintain and update system design architecture in collaboration with Marketing, Technical, and R&D leads.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure product specifications are up-to-date.
  • Lead risk management activities, including system and application FMEAs.
  • Ensure design traceability using AzureDevOps and support subsystem requirements and test evidence.
  • Partner with Quality Engineering to ensure validated designs meet customer requirements.
  • Lead system-level design control deliverables in phase gate design reviews.

About You:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or science with 8+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of experience and advanced degrees).
  • Proven expertise in electro/mechanical medical device design and development.
  • Strong systems engineering skills in requirements management, risk analysis, system architecture, functional modelling, and validation.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and experience in fast-paced global environments.
