The position:
In this role, you'll lead mechanical system design projects aimed at enhancing product performance and reliability. You'll play a key role in mentoring junior engineers, overseeing product lifecycle management, and integrating complex electromechanical systems. This position requires a structured approach to problem-solving and a strong collaborative spirit, working closely with various stakeholders to ensure seamless design-to-manufacture transitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive mechanical system design solutions, including verification and validation activities.
- Provide mentorship and support to engineering team members, driving professional growth.
- Support initiatives from initial design to production, integrating systems with components such as fluidics, optics, and electronics.
- Apply control systems engineering (e.g., motor tuning, PID control) and supplier management to ensure robust manufacturing.
Experience & Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree (QQI level 8) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience, with strong skills in CAD modelling, GD&T, and tolerance stack-ups.
- Proficiency in simulation packages (CFD, FEA) and material selection for product design.
- Experience with safety standards (Machinery Directive, CE Marking) and practical knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Excellent communication skills, with a proactive, ownership-driven approach.
