Senior Manager Environmental and Sustainability

We are looking for a Environmental & Sustainability Senior Manager to join our team. This role blends strategic planning, bid development, and hands-on implementation of environmental and sustainability initiatives across our sites. This senior leadership role requires deep expertise, strategic vision, and a strong commitment to excellence in environmental and sustainability (ES) practices. You will play a key role in shaping and implementing sustainability initiatives, ensuring our construction projects meet the highest environmental standards.

With projects across Ireland, the UK, and Western Europe, this role requires flexibility for travel.

About the role

Site-Level Environmental & Sustainability Implementation

• Develop and implement Construction ES programs across all sites.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability legislation.
• Champion decarbonization, renewable energy, and sustainable construction materials.
• Implement Life Cycle Assessment methodologies and promote low-carbon building materials.
• Manage Environmental and Waste Management Plans for construction projects.
• Conduct environmental audits and compliance checks, including noise, dust, water, and light assessments.
• Track and analyse ES data for KPI development and continuous improvement.

Strategic Leadership & Development

• Drive the implementation of sustainable construction practices.
• Align Construction ES Programs with overall company sustainability initiatives.
• Work closely with the Group Head of Sustainability and local Business Unit Heads of Construction to enhance environmental efforts.
• Stay up to date with industry accreditation programs (e.g., LEED, BREEAM, WELL, BCA Greenmark) and integrate them into projects.

Bid Development & Client Engagement

• Provide expert input on RFPs and bid proposals, ensuring sustainability is a key differentiator.
• Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling, competitive, and sustainability-focused bids.
• Engage directly with clients to ensure their environmental and sustainability expectations are met

What You Bring

• Proven experience in environmental and sustainability project management within the construction industry.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire teams and engage with stakeholders.
• Ability to think strategically and implement sustainability initiatives at scale.
• Proactive problem-solving and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., LEED AP, BREEAM Assessor, or equivalent) are a plus.
