About the Role
As Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate general ledger records, overseeing month-end and year-end close processes, and supporting robust financial reporting across our portfolio. You’ll work closely with the Shared Service Finance Manager and collaborate with colleagues across departments to ensure the highest standards of compliance, control, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure accurate and timely posting of all financial transactions to the general ledger.
- Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, maintaining proper documentation and supporting records.
- Complete month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Prepare and review accruals, prepayments, and other period-end adjustments.
- Analyse financial performance and provide explanations for variances between actual and budgeted or forecasted results.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and both local and international accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
- Prepare tax returns (VAT, RTD, PAYE, etc.) and support external audits with documentation and responses.
- Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and stay updated on relevant accounting regulations.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and other departments to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Provide financial analysis and support for decision-making by senior management.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in general ledger accounting or a similar accounting role
- Proven experience in month-end and year-end close processes
- Familiarity with accounting software and advanced Excel skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
