About the role:
As a Senior EHS Advisor the successful candidate will be responsible for driving Leo Lynch's safety culture on one of our many client locations.
Responsibilities:
- Work effectively with the Project Manager and Construction Team with the implementation of the Integrated Management System.
- Provide EHS support to the site team.
- Liaise with Client, GC & other contractors EHS Advisors to ensure the safe delivery of the project.
- Maintain project EHS documentation and training records.
- Ensure the site is adequately set up with a Site-Specific Construction EHS Plan.
- Assist with the development of Risk Assessments & Method Statements.
- Carry out site safety inspections and behavioural audits as per the company SOP.
- Become familiar with and promote the 'Leo Lynch's Zero Quest - Zero Harm and Zero Defects.
- Report and Investigate incidents when they occur and ensure root causes are identified, mitigated and communicated.
- Communicate Safety Alerts through Toolbox Talk on a scheduled basis.
- Ensuring waste reduction and recycling programmes are maintained in line with project policies & procedures.
- Ensure statutory forms and inspections are complete and recorded in a timely fashion.
- Drive a safety culture by being a champion of best practice; conducting training for new and existing employees on the importance of health and safety on the job; and by suggesting improvements to existing methods of work.
- Any other reasonable and relevant duties as requested by the EHS&S Associate Director & EHS Manager, necessary to meet the ongoing needs of the company.
Candidate requirements:
- HETAC Level 8 or Equivalent qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety.
- 5+ years' experience of managing environmental, health and safety on large construction sites.
- Experience in construction in the role of supporting PSCS.
- Team player and able to build and maintain relationships both internal and external clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Thorough knowledge of current environmental, health and safety legislation.
- Flexibility in working patterns where necessary.
- Ability to efficiently manage all environmental, health and safety issues on site.
- Strong communication & computer skills,
- Ability to work on own initiative and possess strong interpersonal and communications skills.
