Purpose of Post

To supervise, maintain and operate efficient and effective Maintenance services at Regional Hospital Mullingar and assist and facilitate the development and planning of the service.

To manage and supervise staff, contractors, specialists, budgets and all issues associated with the provision of a comprehensive maintenance service at Regional Hospital Mullingar and aligned campuses.

Eligibilty Criteria

Candidates must have at the latest date for receipt of applications for the post:-

1. Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc. Eligible applicants will be those who on the closing date for the competition:

Hold a third level qualification to a minimum standard of Higher Certificate (Quality and Qualifications Ireland Level 6), in Mechanical, Electrical or Civil Services.

Or

Possess a Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) Level 6 (or higher) Advanced Certificate Craft.

Or

Possess the National Craft Certificate issued by FETAC for Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Services

And

Have a minimum of 3 years management experience as a foreman over trade discipline works relating to their qualification, and at least 5 years post qualification / apprenticeship experience in maintenance of industrial, commercial and domestic type buildings or similar.

2. Health

A candidate for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.

3. Character

Each candidate for and any person holding the office must be of good character.
