Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking to advance your career with a dynamic and progressive engineering company?


We are welcoming applications from Quantity Surveyors with experience ranging from 2 to 8 years, from junior through to intermediate level. These roles have become available due to a strong pipeline of upcoming mechanical projects in the Cork/Munster region. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced professionals who want to play a key role in delivering complex mechanical engineering projects.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the estimation team to review mechanical cost estimates and support accurate quantity take-offs and BOQs.
  • Monitor and control project costs, including variations, change orders, and payments, while identifying and reporting commercial risks.
  • Conduct value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities across mechanical scopes.
  • Review mechanical drawings and specifications for changes, and carry out site visits to verify progress and resolve discrepancies.
  • Evaluate subcontractor claims, assist with payment applications, and support preparation of final accounts.
  • Manage contracts, ensuring compliance with key terms, and manage change orders, claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Track labour resources and productivity for mechanical works, analysing trends and recommending improvements.
  • Prepare and present regular cost reports, forecasts, and documentation for stakeholders, maintaining accurate records throughout.


Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:

  • A relevant 3rd level qualification in Quantity Surveying, or a QS with mechanical engineering qualifications/experience.
  • Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience within the construction sector, with a strong focus on mechanical services.
  • Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills, with a results-driven approach.
  • Previous experience working with a Mechanical Contractor is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), with the ability to produce detailed cost reports and financial projections.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to professional development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic project environment.
