My client, one of Ireland leading Steel Manufacturers, is in need of a Purchasing Specialist to join their procurement team based in Co. Longford
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Purchasing Specialist with industrial experience to utilise their experience and grow on their career with a leading Irish Manufacturer
The responsibilities for the Purchasing Specialist include but are not limited to:
- Negotiate agreements and prices with suppliers.
- Focus on the major spends in the company
- Demonstrate cost savings on major spends
- build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers;
- Manage company internal purchasing system in line with company policy, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date
- Provide all requested purchasing and supplier related reports including quarterly spend report, monthly KPI reports and other report information requested by senior management
- forecast price trends and their impact on future activities;
- train and supervise the work of other members of purchasing department
- Carry out regular supplier assessment of existing suppliers.
The requirements for the Purchasing Specialist include but are not limited to:
- 3rd level qualification in Procurement/Supply Chain Management
- IT Skills, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SAP.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Experience in Construction and industrial environments desired
- Self-disciplined with the ability to work solely and as part of team.
- Excellent attention to detail, the ability to multitask and prioritise.
- The ability to liaise confidently with colleagues at all levels.
- React positively and flexibly to the changing needs in the overall working environment and individual role.
- The ability to make quick decisions
