This position is appointed to provide effective management and leadership for the Fridge Recycling Operation in Toomebridge. The Fridge Plant Manager will oversee the operations, ensuring compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) standards.  They will lead and develop the operational team, optimise plant availability in collaboration with the Engineering Manager, and drive performance improvements.  

Key Responsibilities


Operational Management
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the Fridge recycling plant.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to monitor and optimise plant performance to meet production and efficiency targets.
  • Manage the treatment, processing, and disposal of solid and hazardous waste in compliance with all regulatory standards.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor performance metrics (KPIs) to improve operational output.
  • Lead recruitment, training, and development initiatives for plant staff.
  • Act as the key liaison between plant employees, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure optimised availability through development of and adherence to a tailored preventative maintenance schedule.
 Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance 
  • Ensure that all operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments, ensuring proper safety measures and equipment are in place.
  • Lead initiatives to continuously improve safety culture – driving zero accidents through reporting and addressing near misses. 
  • Implement procedures and processes to mitigate risks. 
Continuous Improvement and Innovation
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the plant, particularly in terms of efficiency, cost reduction, and environmental impact.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and legislative changes to ensure the plant remains competitive and compliant.
  • Establish and sustain a production environment that competes with ‘best in class’ status for Fridge Recycling
Stakeholder Management 
  • Maintain effective communication with external stakeholders, including local authorities, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality waste management services in a timely manner.
Additional
Monday to Friday 
40 hours per week 



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role within a production or industrial environment.
  • Health & Safety: Strong knowledge of safety practices and fire safety management.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams in a production setting.
  • Compliance: Solid understanding of SHEQ regulations and ability to ensure full compliance.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to maximize value from operational outputs while controlling costs.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to manage performance through KPIs and resolve operational issues effectively.
  • Strong focus on fostering a safety-first culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to optimise plant performance through collaboration and innovation.
  • Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to leadership and team development.
This role is critical to the success of ENVA’s Fridge Recycling Operations, ensuring the delivery of safe, compliant, and high-performance outputs while maximizing commercial value.
