DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Plant Manager to lead the overall business end-to-end execution and performance of the DePuy Synthes Ireland Manufacturing Facilities to ensure that key service, quality, safety, innovation and cost measures are achieved in a manner consistent with strategic and business plans.
This role will also serve as the Joints Make pillar representative and statutory director of the DePuy Ireland Board of Directors having operational oversight and decision-making authority as it relates to the products manufactured under the DePuy Ireland Legal Manufacturer. This role will be based at our Cork, Ireland facility.
ORGANISATIONAL INTERFACES:
DePuy Ireland Team Members (all levels), DePuy Synthes Joint E-2-E Supply chain team, Digital E-2-E Supply chain team, DePuy Ireland GSC, DePuy Synthes Cork Site Leadership team, Campus Ireland leadership team and Irish Medical Device Association.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the facility is always in compliance with corporate quality standards and FDA requirements.
Ensure compliance with Safety and Environmental corporate and agency regulations integrating these into the daily business activities and decisions.
Provide all necessary resources to facilitate the establishment, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality, Safety, and Environmental system and is the senior on site contact with external authorities.
Ensure supply of manufactured product in line with demand plan and compliance requirements as well as achieving agreed targets for productivity, lead times, inventory levels & environmental objectives both in the Cork Plant and for those product lines that are part of the DePuy Ireland Legal Manufacturer.
Proactively manage facility and staff in line with agreed financial budget and in line with 2020 site vision and Strategic objectives
Performs and executes strategic business planning for the site and oversight of strategic planning for Make function across the Joints Supply Chain platform. (e.g. Raynham, Warsaw, Leeds, Palm Beach Gardens, etc.)
Builds operational competencies and competitive advantage around the supply chain
Provides direction and holds immediate staff accountable for obtaining results using collaborative management style.
Provides clear articulation of the operational and financial performance measures and monitors results across all Joints sites.
Responsible for people development across the organization with specific focus on building a diverse pipeline; making sure back-ups for key positions are identified and developed.
Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level.
Development and training of staff to ensure maintenance of standards and efficient use of labour, with effective development of goals and objectives.
Promote a sustainable high performing culture across the organization.
Responsible for the DePuy Synthes Joints Make functional pillar as statutory director of the DePuy Ireland UC legal entity.
POSITION AUTHORITY:
Manage assign budget based on establish company policies and guidelines.
Approves capital appropriation investments for all Make sites as part of the Joints Supply Chain platform.
Chairs monthly operational leadership team and escalation meetings supporting the Joints Supply Chain platform.
Fulfills all duties as statutory director of the DePuy Ireland Board of Directors.Degree or equivalent in Engineering or business-related subject required (Masters preferred).
Experience in Operations, Manufacturing, or related activities required
Senior management experience within a regulated multinational environment required.
Experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical industry preferred.
Human Resources planning and development experience required.
Previous Plant Manager experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.
