Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the scientific management of the nuclear medicine and diagnostic x-ray service, including radiotherapy and diagnostic radiology applications of radioisotopes.
- Contribute to and implement routine quality assurance arrangements for all imaging equipment, including measurement and data analysis.
- Provide scientific support to various service lines in radiology.
- Participate in managing the safety of all imaging and related equipment.
- Participate in organising and presenting in-house education and training for other hospital employees.
- Actively engage in activities that comprise continued professional development.
- Assist with the commissioning of new equipment in the Radiology department, identifying faults and taking relevant action.
Requirements
- Applicants must have a validated Honours degree in Physics, a post-graduate certification in Medical Physics (MSc. or PhD), or have made significant contributions to research or professional activity.
- Prior expertise in diagnostic imaging and/or nuclear medicine is preferable.
- An eligibility for membership in a relevant professional body, such as the IAPM.
- Aptitude for problem solving and decision making.
- The ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team.
