Mechanical Quantity Surveyor Skills:
- Minimum of 4 years of Quantity Surveying experience on mechanical projects, with experience on projects valued over €5 million in sectors such as data centres, pharmaceuticals, industrial, or commercial sectors.
- A third-level qualification in Construction Economics or Quantity Surveying, ideally with a technical background in plumbing, pipefitting, or mechanical engineering.
- Proficient in Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of commercial management and Quantity Surveying within construction.
- Understanding of contract conditions and their applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent record-keeping and administrative abilities.
- Process-driven with a focus on EHS and Quality Work Management Systems.
- Irish construction experience
As a Mechanical Quantity Surveyor:
- Develop and manage budgets, BOQs, and profit plans; provide detailed reports on the commercial status of projects to the Project Manager.
- Conduct interim commercial meetings with clients and internal teams; ensure clear communication and reporting on project progress and financials.
- Oversee subcontractor accounts, including interim valuations, final accounts, payment certificates, and retentions; ensure payments are made according to contract terms.
- Administer contract obligations, issue interim and final accounts, and manage progress applications in line with project and contract requirements; identify and report on material or labour escalations as needed.
- Identify potential commercial risks and report them promptly to Senior Management; work under the direction of Senior Management to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with the Planning Engineer to ensure accurate progress reporting; manage costing and agreement of daily work changes, including subcontractor remeasurement, site dayworks, and change orders.
- Maintain accurate records and provide detailed backup to support commercial tracking and costing.
- Negotiate with clients or their representatives as necessary; demonstrate enthusiasm, loyalty, and hard work in all duties.
The Package:
Salary will be DOE, but you can expect a salary of at least of €75,000 plus rewards & benefits.
