- A Level 7/8 Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in mechanical engineering or project management, preferably within the construction or building services industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment, and design principles.
- Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Adherence to deadlines and ability to work under pressure.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of mechanical drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines. Identify and resolve design issues or discrepancies.
- Develop project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgeting. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
- Propose engineering alternative solutions, perform detailed calculations, and create sketches for client approval. Ensure the feasibility, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of proposed solutions.
- Generate and manage project-related documentation, including Requests for Information (RFIs), change orders, and progress reports. Maintain accurate records of project activities and milestones.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems with other project elements. Conduct regular meetings to discuss project progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Implement and monitor quality control measures to ensure that mechanical installations and systems meet project requirements, industry standards, and applicable regulations. Perform inspections and tests to validate the quality and functionality of mechanical components.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to develop procurement schedules, select vendors and suppliers, and ensure timely delivery of required materials and equipment.
- Ensure that all mechanical systems and installations adhere to safety protocols, codes, and regulations. Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures.
- Familiarisation of Design/IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand the scope of the Project works ensuring spec compliance and as per schedule priority.
