We are looking to hire a passionate and highly collaborative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our AR/VR business group in Cork, an exciting new startup within Logitech. We need a critical thinker, and innovator, who is fluent in Creo and experienced in developing products for mass production. In this role, you will enjoy a broad range of work from early concepting and rapid prototyping, right through to qualifying and launching products in mass production. You should be passionate about mechanical design and excited about working in an agile, highly collaborative environment. You’ll work with a passionate, world-class team, stakeholders who want big thinking and you’ll have the opportunity to shape and create a new generation of products and experiences in a fast-moving environment.

Design innovative new products, from inception through to launch in mass production, working as a key member within a multifunctional team of industrial designers, electronics engineers and software developers.
Collaborate with a global mechanical engineering/project team.
With a design thinking mindset, prototype and iterate quickly, to validate the experience, and quantify the risks, using the latest rapid prototyping techniques and the tools in our fully equipped Workshop and Lab.
Develop complex mechanical systems and components using best practices with robust design, quality and sustainability in mind.
Collaborate with our manufacturing team and toolmakers to ensure designs are optimised for manufacture, assembly and cost.
Develop and carry out rigorous testing & qualification to ensure the products will exceed the consumers expectations over it’s life.
For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and behaviors to our team:
5 year experience in mechanical design of consumer products.
Proficient in Creo and comfortable with solid and surfacing modelling.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques for plastics, metals, injection moulding and tooling.
Highly skilled in problem solving.
Knowledge of engineering qualification & testing.
Strong prototyping skills.
Self driven, motivated and passionate about design, the consumer and building experiences that make a difference in people's lives.
In addition, preferable skills and behaviors include:
Geometric dimensioning, tolerancing & FMEA.
Knowledge of Creo Live or Ansys Simulation.
Experience with detailed technical drawings.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
