Job Description
The role of the Insurance Sales Team Leader is really important to us. You will be responsible for building and mentoring a high-performing team, with a particular emphasis on onboarding and training new team members to ensure consistency, confidence, and compliance from day one.
We would love to welcome you to our Dundalk office, working hours of Monday-Thursday 8:30am – 5:00pm and 8:30am – 4:30pm on Fridays
Your responsibilities day to day will be…
- Lead, coach, and motivate a team of insurance sales agents to meet and exceed individual and team sales targets.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance metrics and provide regular feedback and support.
- Ensure all sales activities are aligned with company values and regulatory standards (e.g. Central Bank of Ireland requirements).
- Working with the Sales Manager to manage and optimise the sales pipeline from various lead sources.
- Develop and implement a structured onboarding programme for new starters, tailored to both entry-level and experienced hires.
- Deliver engaging training sessions covering product knowledge, sales techniques, systems usage, compliance, and customer service best practices.
- Conduct regular skills gap analyses and develop tailored training interventions.
- Act as the primary mentor and support point of contact for new entrants during their induction period and probation.
- Collaborate with relevant members of the management, People & Compliance teams to ensure onboarding and training materials remain current and fully aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Provide feedback to higher management on onboarding outcomes and suggest improvements based on measurable KPIs (e.g. time to competence, retention rates).
- Ownership of team KPIs, setting team member targets accordingly (you will be responsible for ensuring the overall team target is reached and this may include selling yourself).
- Identify and implement best practices across the sales function to streamline processes and improve productivity.
- Commit to your own continuous personal development (including but not limited to regulatory requirements).
- Proven experience in a sales / leadership role within the insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of the Irish insurance market, products, and regulatory framework.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and people development skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire team members to reach their full potential.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficient in CRM and sales reporting tools (such as Salesforce & Applied Relay).
- A minimum APA qualification in General Insurance required as a minimum (CIP or higher qualification desirable or commitment to completing same).
- Knowledge of a range of general insurance products, particularly, non-motor (commercial business).
