My client is one of Ireland's leading food production companies, with multiple divisions and sites across the Munster region. With over 100 years of excellence, the company has continued to thrive and is now seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their team at their West Cork dairy facility.
Purpose:
Reporting to the Director of HR, the HR Generalist will provide comprehensive support across all stages of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, talent management, HR system optimisation, employee relations, and engagement. This role plays a pivotal part in implementing the company's HR strategy, particularly in talent development and driving the successful adoption of a new HR system.
The HR Generalist will collaborate closely with managers and employees, fostering a positive workplace culture while delivering innovative HR solutions in a dynamic environment. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the organisation's strategic and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted point of contact for employees, addressing concerns and providing HR guidance.
- Oversee end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, interviews, and onboarding.
- Collaborate with managers to assess workforce needs and ensure timely hiring.
- Facilitate onboarding programs, role-specific training, and maintain the operations skills matrix.
- Identify high-performing employees for development opportunities and progression.
- Plan and manage training events, liaising with providers and coordinating schedules.
- Support managers in addressing performance-related issues effectively.
- Serve as the HR System Superuser, driving the implementation, optimisation, and support of the new HR system.
- Monitor and report on key HR metrics, including absence management, and work with managers to address trends.
- Develop and implement employee engagement and recognition initiatives to enhance workplace culture.
- Manage daily employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, formal investigations, disciplinary actions, and grievances.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Lead and contribute to HR continuous improvement projects and identify opportunities for operational enhancements.
- Stay updated on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies.
Key Requirements:
- Relevant HR qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role.
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Strong expertise in talent management and HR systems, with experience in system optimisation.
- Solid knowledge of employment law and compliance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with AI tools that enhance HR processes and productivity.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust at all levels.
- Proactive problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
- Enthusiasm for driving continuous improvement and contributing to HR projects.
