We have a fantastic opportunity for a Duty Manager to join our team here at the Tower Hotel, Waterford, part of the Neville Hotel Group.

The Tower Hotel is Waterford's premier 4-star city centre hotel and is superbly located overlooking the Marina and Reginald's Tower. The hotel is just a 3-minute stroll from the city's shopping and entertainment hot spots, and the premier business district.

The role:

This is a fulltime position. Reporting to the General Manager and Operations Manager, the Duty Manager will oversee the running of key functions in the hotel.


Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To oversee the daily operations of the hotel and assist in departments when necessary.
  • To consistently maintain the correct service and product standards within the hotel.
  • Manage and support team members, ensuring they adhere to policies and provide excellent service.
  • To assist in training, ensuring that training is documented accordingly, and to assist in the development of staff.
  • To have adequate knowledge of operating the hotels AV equipment, air conditioning and lighting in all departments.
  • Anticipate guest needs and proactively manage their expectations.
  • To ensure an environment exists which promotes employee morale and encourages the team to have pride and commitment in their area of work.
  • Ensure prompt resolution of guest issues.
  • Have full knowledge of the hotel and all departments.
  • Monitor billing, payments, and ensure accurate transactions.
  • Oversee the execution of any events, conferences, or group bookings that are happening in the hotel.
  • Ensure the hotel complies with all health, safety, and quality standards.
  • Handle emergencies or unexpected issues, such as maintenance problems or guest concerns, and resolve them efficiently.
  • Carry out night management shifts on occasion.

 

Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of two years' supervisory experience within the hotel or hospitality industry.
  • Possess excellent guest care and service skills.
  • Have a mature, positive, and pleasant manner.
