Perform Recruitment is currently seeking candidates for the position of Environmental Health and Safety Officer on behalf of our client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enforce environmental health and safety (EHS) policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Perform EHS audits and inspections to ensure compliance.
  • Deliver EHS training sessions to employees.
  • Foster and instill a strong health and safety culture among all employees.
  • Oversee daily EHS operations and tasks.
  • Regularly review and revise company Risk Assessments, Safe Operating Procedures, Health & Safety Policies, and the Safety Statement.
  • Stay informed about legislative updates and implement necessary changes.
  • Implement and update EHS control measures as needed.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits of the facility to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, determine root causes, and implement preventive and corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance and training on safety procedures to all staff.
  • Work closely with management to develop and execute risk management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Third Level Qualification in Health & Safety or a related field is required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing setting is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Experience in the food manufacturing industry is highly advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong verbal, written, communication, and IT skills.
  • Proficiency in conducting Health & Safety investigations.
  • Fluent English is required; additional languages are an advantage.
