FRS Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Head of Sales for a progressive agricultural business in the Cork area. This is a full-time permanent role.

Our client is a leading manufacturer of animal nutritional products and have become and has been serving the agricultural trade in Ireland for 40 years. They have also developed key relationships with export partners across Europe , Middle East and Asia.

The role of Head of Sales offers the opportunity to join a highly innovative and driven team. You will join the organisation at a key stage of development of the business in a very strategic industry.

The primary focus of this role is to provide a strategic framework for sales growth both in Ireland and the UK. You will also be responsible for the development & implementation of the Commercial strategy.

Reporting to the CEO you will be responsible for the following duties.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsible for agreed sales / income targets, budgets and KPIs
  • To lead on implementation, reporting and reviewing of the strategic and operational sales & marketing plans to drive sales and revenue
  • To lead on developing activities for all channels to meet organisational aims with cohesiveness and creativity
  • To lead and project manage the sales team and wider working groups to fulfil objectives such as product positioning.
  • To stay abreast of progress and direction in the premix and feed additive sector in Ireland and The UK
  • Identifying and leading new opportunities, including on-site presentations, negotiating and closing.
  • To expand the business into the North of Ireland and The UK
  • To be a member of the Strategic Management Team, owning agreed areas of the Strategic Action Plan and managing identified projects
  • To regularly review customers and strategic partners
  • To manage the work programmes of relevant staff to ensure optimum productivity, personal development and impact on KPIs
  • Attend shows, seminars, conferences and meetings as necessary
  • To be the direct line manager for the relevant staff including:
    • Training & development
    • Holiday/sickness reporting
    • Regular one to one support
    • Appraisal process
  • To oversee the accurate and timely collection of data and its input into KPI reporting systems
  • To manage and deliver the relevant budgets and produce financial reports
  • To support the events programme and any relevant projects as required

Experience required
  • A degree in Agriculture , Veterinary or Business. A knowledge of animal nutrition would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 7-10 year's experience of working at management level in Sales.
  • Experience of developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies
  • Previous experience in managing and motivating staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with key industry stakeholders
  • Advanced IT skills.
