We are Unio, an established Wealth Management business backed by Great-West Lifeco, via its Irish subsidiary Irish Life Group.


Unio specialises in private wealth management and employee benefit consultancy and has over 30 years’ experience advising companies and personal investors.


With offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick and Galway, Unio has €14 billion in assets under administration and advice. We advise more than 10,000 private clients in relation to wealth management.


A key component within Unio, the Wealth Management division oversees all client engagement including delivery of a unique outcome-based proposition to existing and prospective clients. This is delivered through the wealth management advisory team and supported by the client service function. The Wealth Management team develop insightful thought leadership content and will lead and refine the capability of the wealth management advisory team.


This role will be based in our Dublin office.


Role:


The Head of Private Clients is a key role within the Wealth Management Business and will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. As a senior leadership position the successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer and the Wealth Management Senior Leadership Team to oversee the effective business strategy for Unio Wealth. He/she will lead, develop and manage the Wealth Management Advisory Team including Heads of Segments, private client advisors as well as certain technical specialists to bring about performance improvement in line with the requirements and objectives of the business, and in support of the development of a highly customer-focused operation. The incumbent will play a significant role in developing the customer value proposition and unique market positioning for Unio, ensuring its implementation across various market segments to both existing and prospective clients. They will critically appraise, refine and enhance our client advice and customer journey and ensure consistency of this advice to all clientele They will deliver on qualitative targets across the division while supporting the Chief Commercial Officer to ensure sales targets are met.


He/she will continually monitor and lead the enhancement of business processes across the Private Client Team to generate greater levels of productivity, lower unit costs and a higher quality of output whilst ensuring industry best practices are adhered.


The role holder will work with the human resources function regarding LD and adviser competence enhancement and training needs for WM division. He/she will contribute fully to Wealth Management Executive Management Team including regular presentations at Corporate Executive level. The role holder, working with other senior colleagues will assess internal strengths and external market opportunities, and determine the direction for the Wealth Management business.


As part of the Executive team, they will contribute to the overall business vision and direction for the Wealth Management business.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Improve the Advisory process and customer value propositions.

  • Deliver on division qualitative targets and KPIs

  • Foster strategic relationships with partners like ILG, Unio, and EBC alongside the CEO and Senior leaders.

  • Work with the CEO to develop strategic plans and KPIs

  • Manage, coach and develop the Head of Segments and the private client advisory teams to maximise their effectiveness within the organisation.

  • Support the design and implementation of the future business and operating model

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:

  • Appropriate third level qualification in a relevant discipline.

  • Post-Graduate qualification is desirable.

  • Extensive experience in financial services, including wealth and asset management, marketing, and product development.

  • Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire and develop top talent.

  • High level of commercial awareness with proven track record of driving business growth.

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and networking abilities.

  • Experience developing and implementing innovative Wealth Management products and services.

  • Fundamental analytical skills with a deep and thorough knowledge of products and asset classes.
