- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in health and safety management, in the construction or mechanical contracting industry.
- Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations, codes, and standards
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective health and safety programs in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to risk management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and safety management software.
- Valid driver's license.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures tailored to the specific risks and requirements of mechanical contracting activities.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and job hazard analyses to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate controls.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project teams and field personnel to promote a strong safety culture and foster proactive safety behaviours.
- Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure that all relevant personnel receive adequate health and safety training, including new employee orientation, toolbox talks, and specialized training as needed.
- Keep abreast of changes in health and safety legislation and industry best practices and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health and safety programs through regular inspections, audits, and performance metrics, and implement improvements as necessary.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to address safety concerns and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to health and safety activities, including incident reports, training records, and safety certifications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, client inquiries, and third-party auditors regarding health and safety matters.
The salary & package is dependent on experience and the successful candidate will be rewarded favourably. Salary’s starting from €45000 - Negotiable depending on experience and suitability, plus package to include bonus, phone, laptop.
