The Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) Analyst will be responsible for the end to end handling of access requests made under the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for BCMGlobal clients. The DSAR Analyst will play a key role in ensuring that legal, contractual and regulatory requirements in connection with Data Subject Access Requests, confidentiality and security of personal information are met and support the business in Data Protection compliance.
Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities
  • Processing, validating and prioritising DSAR requests received within the business in an efficient manner;
  • Timely and accurate collation of information in line with Data Protection legislation;
  • Printing, reviewing and redacting collated information for DSAR packs;
  • Analysing and completing DSAR schedules where required;
  • Engaging and interacting with both internal /external stakeholders and corporate clients as required;
  • Sending completed DSAR packs to individuals both manually and electronically ensuring data security; 
  • Management of the DSAR mailbox and DSAR queries raised by the Business, customers / advisors and our clients in a professional and efficient manner;
  • Managing and processing Data Protection Commissioner (DPC) investigations and assist CRT with data protection related Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman (FSPO) complaints in appointed timelines;
  • Support the Senior Data Protection Analyst in the maintenance of the Personal Data Processing Inventory, Information Asset Register and completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments;
  • Ensure that procedures related to Data Protection remain up to date and relevant for the business and that appropriate training is provided on these on a regular basis.  In particular, ensure that all processes and procedures required by the GDPR are implemented in the business;
  • Support the Data Protection team in the event of a Data Protection breach notified to the team:
    • immediately notify the Senior Data Protection Analyst and Data Protection Officer;
    • provide support and assistance in the timely investigation and evaluation of the scope and potential risk resulting from the data breach with the oversight of the Senior Data Protection Analyst; and 
    • support the Senior Data Protection Analyst in the drafting or preparation of any communications to the data subject, relevant clients and/or the DPC / ICO.
  • Support the Senior Data Protection Analyst in the management of the Privacy mailbox.
  • Support the Senior Data Protection Analyst in the preparation of regular timely reports regarding compliance standards, delivery of rights, breaches and issues etc. to the management of BCMGlobal, our corporate clients and appropriate Forums and Boards.
Experience & Personal Attributes
To perform the role, it is expected that the suitable candidate will possess the following experience and business/technical skills:
  • Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills with proven ability to excel under pressure when working to tight deadlines.
  • Confidentiality and integrity is paramount as the successful candidate will be exposed to sensitive and confidential information.
  • Knowledge and experience of Data Protection obligations, principles and regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and working with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and excellent customer service focus.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the main provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018 and the GDPR and its relevance in the performance of the tasks assigned to the role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Data Subject Rights and Data Breach Management processes.
  • A Third level qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in banking or financial services, with at least 2 years’ experience working in a data protection related role. 
  • APA Loans and Professional Certificate in GDPR Administration (Financial Services) or working towards same is preferred. 
  • Good Interpersonal skills with an ability to work both independently and as effectively as part of a team.
  • Experience of working in an outsourced environment would be particularly useful
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft products including Word and Excel.
