Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience working as a Manufacturing Engineer in an industrial environment.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with high voltage equipment and systems (transformers, switchgear, protective relays).
- Experience with power system analysis and design software (ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower).
- Experience with LEAN Manufacturing/5S/8D practices.
- Experience with industry standards and codes (IEEE, NEC, NESC).
- Knowledge of overseeing yields improvements and cycle time reductions for volume and complexity parts.
- Ability to influence the product design process by proposing improvements with associated data.

As a Manufacturing Engineer at Google, you will lead a multidisciplinary projects, collaborating with internal customers to define requirements and guide user projects through their complete lifecycle. You'll be a crucial partner in new product development, identifying and qualifying advanced manufacturing techniques, and providing valuable Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain influential relationships with Google's global manufacturing partners, guiding their development and production capabilities in alignment with long-term Google objectives.
- Design, develop, and advocate the implementation of scalable manufacturing processes and systems for modular data center products. Optimize for cost, quality, and flexibility.
- Collaborate with design, product management, and operations teams to identify and proactively address potential manufacturing roadblocks in early development phases.
- Analyze and interpret production data to drive informed manufacturing strategies. Identify and implement solutions to optimize performance and efficiency across the supply chain.
- Use Product Data Management (PDM) systems to create Bills of Materials (BOM), Approved Vendor Lists (AVL), and manage Engineering Change Notifications/Orders (ECN/O). Lead the team to align forecast and BOM structures.
