Catering Assistant

The Marlay are currently recruiting for a full time Catering Assistant on a Permanent contract. We are part of the CareChoice Group which consists of 15 nursing homes. It is one of South Dublin's most reputable nursing homes, built to very high standards and operated to deliver excellent care of the elderly.

Purpose of the Role

To ensure food and beverages are served to the standard directed and in line with the HACCP system in place in the home.

Main Responsibilities

• Duties include any duties associated with serving meals, cleaning up after meals and maintaining the dining environment at the standard required by The Marlay.
• Ensure that food is presented in an appealing way
• Assist in the serving of meals and drinks ensuring that the correct meals are served to residents with special dietary needs.
• Use all equipment as trained observing all safe practices, so that accidents are avoided
• Maintain the food serving area and dining room in a clean, safe and hygienic condition
• Ensure that all bins are emptied and all waste is discarded in the appropriate bin. (Food, Recycling, General Waste)
• Record keeping - ensure that necessary checks are made and recorded in accordance with our Food Hygiene Policy
• Ensure food hygiene and HACCP standards are adhered to at all times.
• Help to maintain a safe environment for staff, residents and visitors
