Backend Web Developer, Castletroy, Limerick / Remote working.
We are a rapidly growing web development company who are building enterprise back end systems and web solutions for the corporate sector in the USA using proven open source technologies. We have designed and built large scale geo distributed deployments capable of handling sustained queries in the 1000+ per second range while also building many sites in the consumer publishing, e-commerce and mobile space. We are now looking to hire now seek to hire a mid-level – senior Software Developer to join our talented and expanding backend web development team in Castletroy, Limerick. This role can also be worked on a remote/telecommute basis in Ireland.
Working as part of a team you will be designing and developing web based applications in an agile environment. Your remit will involve liaising with the clients in the USA, working closely with software developers and testers and developing apps using Java. The technology used will vary according to projects and will always be at the cutting edge, so you will have plenty of opportunities to get to grips all the latest trends in technology.
Required skills and Experience:
You are an experienced backend web developer with around 5-10 years of professional software development experience. You can thrive in a multidisciplinary team environment and you can incorporate multiple commitments, strategic objectives, and day-to-day tasks seamlessly. You can articulate complex concepts/ideas simply and easily and you can work effectively and professionally with a diverse group of people.
We’d also love you to have a structured software development background, a passion for web development and core competencies in Java development. A background in Agile development would be fantastic too.
Ideally, you have a strong knowledge of software patterns and software development principles, and a broad background in backend stacks and web-based architectures (web servers, load balancing, caching, databases, message queues, replication, etc.) Any experience of or interest in DevOps principles a plus!
