Our client are recruiting for a Part-Qualified Accountant / Assistant Accountant to join our Finance Team. This position is located in Tullamore Co Offaly.


The Role


This is a hands-on and varied role ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic finance professional looking to develop their career. The successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of financial functions, contributing directly to the efficient operation of the Finance Department and supporting the wider business.

Key Responsibilities


  • Perform daily banking transactions, bank reconciliations, and supplier payments

  • Maintain accurate accounting records using Sage 50 (or similar)

  • Manage Debtors and Creditors ledgers

  • Prepare and issue customer invoices; record and allocate payments

  • Monitor overdue accounts and support credit control processes

  • Reconcile Purchase Orders with Supplier Invoices and identify discrepancies

  • Allocate costs accurately across departments

  • Conduct monthly supplier and intercompany reconciliations

  • Post and review company credit card transactions

  • Assist in preparing monthly management reports and reconciliations

  • Support payroll processing and Revenue filings (PAYE, VAT, RCT)

  • Assist with audit preparation and year-end accounts

  • Contribute to marketing efforts, including monthly mail merges to potential suppliers

  • Update lead databases and assist in social media and brand awareness initiatives

  • Support the development of internal policies and procedures

  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all company policies

  • Perform general administrative and ad hoc finance duties as required

Requirements


  • BBS/BA in Business, Accounting, or a related field

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Finance Department

  • Proficient in Sage 50 and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach

  • Full clean driving licence

  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to take initiative and continuously learn
