The Four Ferns are expanding and have an exciting opportunity for a caring energetic, compassionate, kind, creative and reliable Activities Coordinator to join our team.
The Activities Coordinator will deliver activities that enrich residents' lives and help implementing a regular schedule of activities to allow residents to enjoy creative expression, socialisation and exercise.
The Activities Coordinator will work within our multidisciplinary care team to nurture a caring, homely environment for residents to enable residents to fulfil their social, cultural, recreational needs and to maximise their independence in accordance with their wishes, while ensuring each residents' privacy and dignity is always respected.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver activities program under supervision of the activities manager
- Document activities attended
- Assist residents to the different events and group activities
- Maintain activities store clean and tidy
- Assist resident to the hairdressing salon
- Provide assistance during meals
- Provide assistance for the use of the garden spaces
Requirements
- EU/EEA citizenship
- FETAC/QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or related field/Care Assistant Background - Care of the Older Person, Dementia Care and Palliative Care Support Modules are desirable or willing to complete.
- Experience in design and delivery of activities for older people.
- Previous experience of doing activities in a residential care centre.
- Sonas training desirable or willing to complete.
- Imagination Gym training desirable or willing to complete
