Accounts Assistant (Maternity Cover) - Potential to be Extended

 

Contract Type: Fixed-term (Maternity Cover) Hours: Full Time - 40 hours per week.

 

Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-focused Accounts Assistant to join our Finance and Purchasing Department at our Head Office in Sligo. This is a fixed-term maternity cover position, with the potential to be extended. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial and purchasing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of transactions.

 

Role Responsibilities:

  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable.
  • Process and reconcile supplier invoices
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Processing of sub-contractor payment certificates and RCT contracts
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • General administrative tasks related to the finance and purchasing department
  • Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting systems
  • Respond to purchasing related queries from internal teams and external parties
  • Provide general administrative support to the Finance & Purchasing Department.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administration role preferably within the construction or building industries.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with accounting software is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities efficiently
